Netflix.com

So anybody ever use it before? Like or dislike.

It’s been covered before. Use the forum search function for NetFlix.

I have been a member for about two months and I have been quite pleased. I live in nashville and I usually get the movies within two days of the e-mail saying it has shipped. Recommended.

Jason, I can’t believe you’ve never heard any of us talk about it before!!

Several of the guys have dropped their memberships, as it was taking too long to get stuff.

Personally, I still love it.

That was before Netflix added a number of distribution centers. My stuff used to go from NC to CA, as you can imagine, not a speedy process. Now it’s NC to MD.

Ohh, I’ll have to look it up then. I don’t check this board out as much as the Games.

I’ve had netflix for about 2 years now, since back in the days when they still had the option to just get charged per disc. I think it’s great, I always get my stuff the day after it ships, but then I live about 2 hours away from their headquarters. Friends on the east coast that tried it didn’t have as good results, but that was also before the new distribution centers opened up.

I dropped it back when there was only one west coast distribution center. I don’t watch many movies and turnaround time was around a week each direction. Since then, I watch most of my movies at the local blood donation center since the process I do takes a couple of hours.

I noticed this week that www.walmart.com is offering a service similar to Netflix. I think it’s slightly cheaper. Both have free trials, but I think I’d try to find out about distribution center proximity and possibly selections before signing up again. With Netflix, I often had to get in line to get one of the few movies I wanted. I built a queue, but it was a little unpredictable which one would actually come next.

I’ve had two Netflix subs going for a while, but just cut back to one this week. We started with two because someone gave us a gift certificate for it, and you can’t apply their GCs to existing accounts. WTF? Anyway, it was a good way for me to get caught up on Boy Movies that my wife didn’t want to see.

I saw an article a few months ago Wal*Mart was planning to start a competing service. I try to minimize the amount of money I spend at Wal*Mart, so I’d rather pay Netflix a couple of extra bucks.

Is there a list of distribution centers somewhere? I couldn’t find it on their website. Or should I just sign up for the free trial and look at the postmarking?
