That happens all the time. There must be a bug in their code somewhere.

They also tag stuff as New or having New Episodes if they add new audio or subtitle tracks. It’s how stuff they’ve had available for streaming forever suddenly gets a “New” tag.
They also put up the Dr. Who 2011 Christmas special a few weeks back.
Zulu Dawn and Zulu are on instand, both battles happened the same day.
I’m so glad they added Season 4 when they did. I just got to the end of Season 3 this morning. What a cliffhanger! (A first for the series right? I don’t remember seasons 1 and 2 ending on cliffhangers). I’m glad I got to see the 4th season opener before going to work.
I am loving Breaking Bad season 4 now.
Discovered the Young Indiana Jones series on there last night. More nudity than I remember.
That’s possibly my single favorite season of a TV series. And the ending is just awesome.
Any nudity would be more than I remember. Are we talking the same Young Indiana Jones?
Yeah, I was surprised. When he goes to Paris at age 11 and meets Picasso there’s a scene with a nude model you see from behind. Later, when she’s putting on a robe you also get a glimpse of her breast. I’m wondering if some of this was disguised by the overscan area and general poor quality of broadcast television in the era.
Yeah, I’m surprised too. That’s kind of crazy for a series with an 11-year-old protagonist.
I watched another last night and Indy meets Freud who explains his love for his mother stems from a yearning to have sex with her. Then they go to Italy where Puccini tries to seduce his mom. Its a deeply weird series. I think the weird kid stuff really needs to be balanced out by the teenage adventure stuff, but the reedited the whole thing into chronological order for home video. When it aired there use to be a framing device using a 90 year old Indy, and they usually paired an hour of the 11 year old stuff with an hour of him older.
The Veteran if Taken had been directed Oliver Stone it would have looked like this. The ending just wow. The Devil’s Double is on instance as well.
regarding the young indy stuff, I preferred it in the chronological order of the dvd’s.
I enjoyed Goon, not going to win any awards but I didn’t feel like I wasted my time watching it.
Anyone watch Trailer Park Boys? Is it any good?
El-G,
A Very Short and Very Old Trailer Park Boys Thread
Glad I found that thread again; forgot about there being an 8 year thread necro. Classic.
Is it any good? Yeah, I’d say so. As some in the thread suggest it seems to get better in seasons 2 and 3 but you would want to start at the start and ride it out. It’s probably an acquired taste but it never failed to make me laugh in the “this is so stupid it’s brilliant” vein.
Seconded on Goon. It’s not an amazing movie by any means, but it’s enjoyable, and about as good as it could be for what it is.
Thirded on Goon. And more. We did a Goon podcast a couple of months ago and I think all three of us loved it.
I’d have to say MrPerson above damns it with faint praise when he says it’s about as good a movie as it can be. It’s much, much better than that. It’s got great timing, real heart, and it’s very, very well put together. And Seann William Scott, as ElGuapo suggests, is fucking fantastic. Playing simple with that much energy and life without resorting to dumb actor tricks is really difficult. It’s one of those performances that makes me get pissed at the Academy, because they can’t seem to figure out (or don’t care) that this kind of performance is just as difficult as anything in fucking A Beautiful Mind, if not more so. And it’s better, to boot.
Also…Kim Coates!
Anyway, see it. It’s worth it.

“Sixty-nine! Number sixty-nine! It’s hilarious!”
So I just got done watching Breaking Bad, Season 4. Wow. Just to tie it back to the movie thread: I just want to submit Breaking Bad as exhibit A in the case for TV’s long form storytelling being far superior to Movies’ short story-equivalent. You just can’t get this kind of an emotional payoff in a movie/short story, like you can in a TV series/Novel.
Samurai Champloo is up on Netflix again. Anyone who likes anime should definitely check this one out if they haven’t already.
