Yeah, fans apparently call that the “Mandy Vortex”.

She was easily the worst, most unrealistic, and most annoying character on the show, so no great loss.

Thanks. That always bugged mi!

Miller’s Crossing, The Untouchables and Rosemary’s Baby!

After waiting two years, Dragonslayer finally came up into instant

Oh and Dark Horse is in there now.

I just saw Dragonslayer for the first time my own self. Such a fantastic movie.

Just noticed that The Ambassador is up. Don’t know how long it’s been there but I was dying to see this when it was in theaters. Unfortunately, it was only playing for a limited time in my area and I ended up missing out.

Mads Brügger is insane.

Blue Valentine is on there now. I can’t wait to see that.

Windtalkers is on there now. I wouldn’t recommend it anyone. It’s a horrible movie. But if you want to see Christian Slater’s head on a pole, I believe it’s the only movie that will fulfill your wish.

Sleepwalk with Me is on there, which I can’t wait to see.

Company Men is up as well. I haven’t seen it yet, but I was recommended it because I loved Up In the Air. That’s got to be a good sign… maybe.

Star Trek Nemesis has been added, which most people hated, but I actually liked it a lot. It was my favorite of the Next Gen movies, at least, but that’s not saying much I guess.

Sleepwalk with Me is fine, I guess, but if you’re familiar with Birbiglia’s comedy, there’s really nothing new for you there. It’s basically just filming people acting out his stand up routine. It’s even framed with him talking directly to the audience.

Nothing wrong with that really, but I was disappointed there wasn’t more to it.

Ditto on Sleepwalk with Me. Listen to him tell the hotel story on This American Life – it works better in @10 minutes than it does in 90. It was okay, but not as good as I’d hoped.

Someone who knows how much I love Arrested Development recommended It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia which is on instant now. Good show for fans of AD?

Gave in to the rabid love of Supernatural in that thread. Absolutely hated it for most of the first season, but it kicked in for me a few episodes after “Route 666.” Once I got to the later first-season stuff I found I really liked it. They have seasons 1-6 (I think) on streaming now.

I’m into season 3 and it’s hit or miss for me…and I’m as rabid an AD fan as there is.

IASiP is more of a blunt instrument when it comes to comedy, whereas AD was like a scapel.

Personally, I would suggest The League if you haven’t already seen it. While still not capable of the same level of subtle or witty comedy as AD (what is?), I find it funnier than IASiP.

I think they just added season 7, and yay! Supernatural is my favorite show ever, so I’m so happy you’re enjoying it. :) I suggest checking out the blooper reels on YouTube after you’ve watched a season, they’re priceless.

Yeah, I love both shows, but AD is much more intelligent and subtle with its humor much of the time, while Sunny is much more in your face about it. Both have excellent writing, I think, but AD is a better show I feel. Might be unfair to say since Sunny has had to stretch out its comedy over many more seasons, though, but it still stays fresh thankfully.

That’s a good analysis. Sunny seems like a clever sitcom to me, but the characters are definitely sitcom characters. Arrested was closer to a mockumentary or a straight movie, the characters were slightly over the top but for the most part I could imagine meeting one of them on the street.

Except you wouldn’t see Tobias. He’s a master of stealth.

AND a master of disguise.

Ha, okay, touche. Tobias was way over the top. But Lindsay and Michael and George Michael, Lucille, GOB when he wasn’t in the middle of a magic act, I’ve met all those people at one time or another.

Nah, I still agree with you, Houngan. AD’s comedy wasn’t based mostly on outlandish shock value (not that there’s anything wrong with that in some cases). The more outlandish stuff was usually of the classic slapstick variety.

p.s.off topic slightly: I really hope Hot Cops make an appearance in the new series.

I saw the one they posted at the end of an episode where the guy who plays Dean was goofing on “Eye of the Tiger.” I was laughing pretty hard for that. Also, the whole episode where Dean kept getting killed over and over was very funny.
