I actually love the Sugar Rush song. :) Great soundtrack overall, really.

Recommend 8 Million Ways to Die. It’s a pretty interesting movie all around:
80s Jeff Bridges as an insane alcoholic ex-cop
Andy Garcia in his first movies as a lead, and arguably his breakout role
Great 80s vibe complete with tons of coke, neon, hookers, and fast 80s cars
Screenplay by Oliver Stone of all people, and it shows. I thought he kept the true motivations of the characters ambiguous until the very end. Also some great scenes such as the frentic pleading energy of the warehouse finale and the weird sex scenes. The scene where Garcia and Bridges meet in public will make you physically tense.
Not a masterpiece, but it gives me hope I have missed all other kinds of great 80s movies. It’s a super, super simple story with a low budget that works.
OMG YOU GUYS
In Bruges
GO WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN’T
Agreed. Amazingly good movie.
Seen it, but will absolutely take this opportunity to watch it again.
They added Tsotsi, a really excellent and moving film about a young hoodlum in South Africa who ends up in unexpected possession of a baby and the impact that has on his life and priorities. (Not, you understand, -his- baby.) Very much recommended.
Also, apparently season 1 of Arrow is up. I’ve heard good things but have not myself seen it.
Man, I just saw that last week. A lighthearted romp it is not. Presley Chweneyagae’s performance has some great subtle touches. A couple scenes are really tough to watch, but it’s worth the effort.

Its a lot better than it has any right to be - totally recommended if you can grasp its comic book made come alive.

I’m not sure I would say it’s a comic book show. The character is very far removed from his counterpart in the pages of DC comics. If you’re looking for a decent action series that still suffers from the CW’s need to keep the teen audience hooked to their tv’s, you’ll enjoy it. I actually still keep up with it, but I roll my eyes on more than one occasion at some of the stories/characters. Still, it’s fun at times.
But still grab the DVD or Blu Ray at some point simply because it has some of the most hilarious outtake scenes I’ve ever watched. Colin Farrel can be a pretty funny guy.

Of course it is. Have you seen the villians ??
Edit: For that matter, have you SEEN the main character? Who shoots people with bow and arrow? In a hood?
Don’t look for realism in this kind of show or you’ll be sorely disappointed, but that aside, its a pretty awesome show.
I know it isn’t new, but Sons of Anarchy has its hooks in me now. Up to near the end of season 3. The jaunt to Ireland was very entertaining, though I don’t have much faith in the existence of big, organized MCs in Belfast.
“A Band Called Death” is a pretty good doc is you like nuggets style 70’s proto-punk.

You might be surprised, I think I heard Germany has more hardcore MCs than any other country.
Recommend a BBC series called The Fall. Follows the police tracking down a serial killer by telling the story from both sides. Only 5 episodes so not a big commitment.
Five episodes so far. There’s no way there’s not at least one more season coming.
I thought a second season was officially announced.
Probably. I’m not on top of TV-related news.

Not sure if they have been talked about or not, but a friend turned me on to Exam last week and I enjoyed it. It has the indy feel and ‘locked room mystery’ plot of one of my old favorites, Cube. Neither are earth shattering but both are good fun despite their plot holes.
Dexter is back on Netflix now that the series is finished.
