Justice League and JLA Unlimited are simply fantastic. Between the hilarious depiction of The Question and the amazing showdown speech Superman gives during a battle with Darkseid in the series finale that puts to shame almost any dialog in the last two superman films, it’s worth every second.

“Sometimes I feel as though I’m living in a world made from cardboard.”

Yeah, really was great stuff.

The first season of JL is just okay, it’s when they start to explore season wide arcs and longer stories that it really comes into it’s own. And JLU is just great.

They seriously need to make a Question movie.

Agreed all around. The Question was made even better through the casting of Jeffrey Combs as the voice actor. BRILLIANT bit of casting there. And yeah, Superman’s speech to Darkseid always gives me chills. Few things from the JL cartoons, however, give me more joy than this.

Booker’s Place is pretty stunning documentary. The “conspiracy theory” at the end doesn’t hold a lot of weight, but it’s mere existence points towards an underlying distrust in the system that is still very much alive (and valid) today.

So I watched the first episodes of Haven and Lost Girl and they were okay. Are either of them worth continuing?

I’ve watched all of Lost Girl and think it’s pretty good fun. If you enjoy Buffy/Angel, you’d probably like Lost Girl as well.

Lost Girl is kind of like watching a very Canadian Buffy. It’s worth watching.

The main character is really the least interesting part of the show though.

Just like American Buffy. ;)

Posting from the UK here so I’m not 100% on the catalogue, but Ben Wheatley’s serial-killers-in-a-caravan movie Sightseers has just gone up state-side. Apparently.

Oh yeah!

I’m so glad the world can now experience this unbiased documentary of our fair nation.

I just finished season 2 of American Horror Story. I thought they did a great job on the Bedlam/Chamber of Horrors approach. Some good acting, good guest stars, and it all more or less fit together, though mixing sci-fi and ghosts/demons always has a sort of disconnect with me.

Out of the blue, I got an email from Netflix: Season 2 of Lillyhammer is on Netflix! Hurray!

Lilyhammer season 2 is up!

A new season of Lost Girl (2 or 3, don’t recall) is up. I won’t tell you it’s an awesome show. It’s sort of like they drag in a fairy tale creature of the week, make them a bunch of soap opera divas, and throw Anna Silk in for sex appeal. It’s not a bad bedtime story, though, which is how I watch it, an episode or two while I get sleepy enough for bed.

Coming in January to Netflix: “Mitt” a documentary about Mitt Romney during the election.

Looks terrific.

Netflix is also producing a Breaking Bad spinoff that’s due out next year: “Better Call Saul” starring Bob Odenkirk. Looking forward to it!
