I’m going to have to watch Wolf of Wall Street, which just got added. I could be wrong about this, but I don’t remember ever thinking a Scorcese film was a waste of time.

Lord of Illusion is another Barker film that I think holds up okay.
And FWIW, I think Wolf of Wall Street is the closest Scorsese has come to wasting my time.
Lord of Illusion is still really good, I agree, even though I’m not much of a Scott Bakula fan. Man, just about anybody else would have been better.

It actually was adapted into a segment of the tv show Tales from the Darkside.
The Books of Blood should be required reading for any horror buff. They’re genre masterpieces that will remembered as classics. In the Hills, the Cities is so ferociously imaginative, it probably made Stephen King gnash his teeth in jealously.
Hellraiser was really the only film adaptation that worked for him, although like malkav I enjoyed Lord of Illusion. But I am a Bakula fan.
I was watching some Anchorman 2 earlier this evening. The first movie was surprisingly charming and funny. But I didn’t make it too far in this one. The 30 minutes or so that I watched were pretty painful. Not recommended.

I had the same reaction. And the uncut, 9 hour version (at least that’s what it felt like) is even worse. I loved Anchorman, so I was disappointed to see it tank so hard with the sequel.
Black Mirror is on US Netflix. If you like hard sci-fi, or dystopian fiction, or black comedy, or Charlie Brooker, just watch it.

Heartily seconded. Black Mirror is a Twilight Zone for the 21st century.
It’s a handful of hit or miss, but The Entire History of You from the first season is a stunningly good bit of sci-fi. I actually liked it better than Her as a meditation on the effects of technology on romantic relationships.

Yeah, some of them are duds (though for me that includes The Entire History of You, so YMMV), but the winners are amazing

Not nearly as full of bounty as the movies going away. The ONLY reason I’ve highlighted Bad Boys II is because they talk about the movie so much during Hot Fuzz, I’m very curious about it. Also, Beauty and the Beast? The Linda Hamilton show on which George R.R. Martin used to be a writer? Man, I loved that show back in the 80s.
Get Low is a phenomenal movie with a great performance by Robert Duvall. I highly recommend it.

I don’t think they’d be adding an 80s show one season at a time. I suspect there might be a contemporary show called Beauty & the Beast.
Yeah, there is (was?) a modernization of Beauty and the Beast on the CW starring Lana Lang from Smallville.
Hahahahha, that is exactly the only reason my girlfriend and I wanna watch it, since we found Bad Boys so boooooring.

Really? Bad Boys I and II are both fun movies, in the classic 80’s style of cop movies. If you enjoy that kind of movies, you’ll like Bad Boys.
I do hope they get SHIELD season 2 soon though, since season one was pretty fun to watch.

Happy to see Frank is coming to Netflix. I missed that one when it was in theaters.
Bad Boys II has a pretty cool car chase involving throwing cars. It’s not as cool when Bay tries to repeat that with a different tossable object type later.
Friends is a pretty big deal for Netflix, if my actual friends are any indication.
As for Bad Boys II:
Michael Shannon: I was in the grocery store the other day, and a guy who works there walked by and said, “Hey, you got your ear back.” I didn’t even know what he was talking about. I looked at him like, “Do I know you? Did something happen to my ear that I’m not aware of?” Then I realized five minutes later that he was talking about Bad Boys II. Because in Bad Boys II I get my ear shot off.
The A.V. Club: It’s weird that people would think that you would immediately know what they’re talking about.
Michael Shannon: I don’t really think about Bad Boys II much unless people say things like that or in interviews. When I’m at home and cleaning the house or something I’m not like, “Man, that was cool when I did Bad Boys II. That was really interesting.”
Still one of my favorite interview quotes. Source: http://www.avclub.com/article/michael-shannon-on-general-zod-the-nsa-and-the-gen-99009
