I find it sad that those movies no longer take place in the future.

The Parking Lot Movie? I actually really liked that. Once you get over what insufferably self-righteous tools half of the workers are, it’s just fun to watch, and it helps that the guy they talk to the most seems to have a pretty good perspective on things.

I’m livin’ in the future, so the present is my past.

A late to the party moment :Nightwatch

I got a kick out of this flick, love the um…humor, and what a great non-American ending.

No. Never watch this movie. This movie is a waste of your goddamned time.

I would like to preemptively distance myself from this post. I was indicating the preferred format for mentioning films in this thread, not endorsing it per se. I have not seen this movie, but I will see BDR, Esquire in court to clear my name if necessary. GOOD DAY.

Shutter Island does, indeed, suck.

I’m watching Tank Girl as I type.

But since it’s thru a Wii, you probably don’t care =(

Sucks badly, it does.

I refused to take anyone’s advice on this because it looks so pretty, but you were all right. It’s horrible.

All you Shutter Island haters can hitch a ride in a jeep with Ted Levine. If you know what I mean.

Hey, that sounds great. Where are we going?

I never did watch enough Pushing Daisies, i.e. any after the pilot, which I thought was great. I will have to remedy that mistake.

Art of the Steal is great. It managed to piss me off about an art collection I had no previous knowledge of, and will probably never see.

…until next year when the collection’s new home in Philadelphia is opened to the public.

Yeah it all left me a little mixed. I got the point but in the end it seemed like the greater good was being served. I think the movie tried too hard with the - AND THESE PEOPLE ARE EVIL - angle when too often I could understand their motivations.

My Indiana Jones sensibilities kicked in when I was watching, too. I just couldn’t feel sorry for a guy who hoarded a bunch of art and wouldn’t let anybody look at it unless he deemed them worthy. They kept cutting to the Philadelphia Museum of Art like it was some evil Gargamel castle looming over the city and all I could think was, “hey, I walked into that place and saw a whole bunch of cool stuff that used to be locked up in people’s houses.”

If it means you liked Shutter Island, then I guess I’ll see you in Ward C with Jackie Earl Haley!

The China Syndrome. Old but still awesome Cold War-era yarn about a reporter (Jane Fonda) who along with her cameraman (Michael Douglas) happen to witness a near meltdown during a tour of a nuclear power station. Jack Lemmon gives a fantastic performance as a plant supervisor turned informant.

Oh yeah? Welll you’re going to be on a tugboat in a thick fog with Mark Ruffalo smirking behind you and the both of you wearing cool hats.

ZING!

Oh yeah? Well I’m going to get on a whiteboard at the end of the movie and explain the whole plot to you just in case you weren’t hit over the head with it enough along the way!
