“Everybody loves Menudo!”
The recently watched list is gone on PS3 Netflix. Instead it was replaced by a shitty browse feature which automatically starts episodes of Xena: Warrior Princess every time I start Netflix. Way to go Netflix!
I’m not that happy with how they’re experimenting with interfaces… I’ve had 3 different interfaces in the last 3-4 months on my PS3 and they seem to just keep getting worse.
The latest one is some kind of upside-down tree where the top level is 9 columns of categories with 2 titles shown. Then hitting down a couple times in a column switches to about 4 columns of subcategories with 4 titles in each (2 of which were on the previos page). Moving down a couple more times gets one column showing 10 titles (4 of which, again, were on the previous page, and 2 of those were on the top page).
And it all seems very laggy and slow to render. So navigating is very redundant and clunky.
I know I sound like an old man waving my cane in the air… I can’t help it.

What I don’t get about Netflix is how every damn device has a different interface and once the thing ships the interface never seems to get updated (except for the PS3 as it seems). I really can’t seem to wrap my head around why they feel the need to not have a standard interface across all platforms.
It’s part of the current obsession with doing split A/B testing on everything instead of just hiring a decent interface designer from the beginning and making minor tweaks as needed (or just putting in a fancy default interface and a streamlined pro interface and giving people a choice).

I am going to guess that they do not see a real issue with it as most netflix appliance users should only see the one interface as most people won’t have or use different devices.

I’m also not a fan of “Recently Watched” randomly disappearing and reappearing. Figure it out, Netflix.
Mesrine: Killer Instinct is now on the Netflixes Instant Mustaches

The latest Futurama series is now up.
Is that both parts or just the first?
Apologies if this has been posted previously, but it looks interesting. I’ve steadfastly avoided twitter up until now. Mainly because the term hashtag has me utterly befuddled. But this type of thing is starting to sway me.
It’s a twitter feed that lets you know when instant watch stuff is about to expire

Dust to Glory awesome story about the Baja 1000 off road race.
Following the BlueJackalope suggestion of Mesrine: Killer Instinct and continuing with the “movies with characters I really shouldn’t empathize with, but I always do” suggestions.
Carlos is now up. This is the full 5 1/2 hour miniseries not the cut down theater version.

Every single episode of “Trailer Parks Boys” are up - all 7 seasons.

“Sometimes a Great Notion” last night.
Surfing choices, saw it, and I had a vague recollection of a long scene that chilled me when I first saw it when I was a teenager. It did again. The 60’s vibe isn’t too bad either. May help that I read the book and know more of the backstory.
Watched Freakonomics tonight, found it to be interesting and entertaining though I think it would of worked better as a TV series.
