Dead Girl was pretty good, also disturbing.

Great, great show that lasted one season. There is a thread in the Book/TV/Music forum if you want to know more. The time-loop mechanic is great, but I found that there was far less repetition of specific scenes and that was a good thing. The repetition worked in Groundhog Day because they could add more funny, I was afraid it would get tedious in Daybreak, but they played it just right.

Watched District B13 today. Pretty good French action flick with lots of parkour and people flying around. I enjoyed my time with it the story is a little like escape from New York but not too much. Check it out.
Also watched Vengeance its a really good Hong Kong revenge flick that isn’t too heavily subtitled. Its a very well shot movie.
District B13 was freaking awesome. Totally loved it, and need to eventually watch its sequel.

I agree, but only for the first twenty minutes. The two best action scenes are back to back, and you get to skip the brain-explodingly dumb plot.

Yeah the plot was dumb but it was interesting enough not to make it brain spilling. There is a sequel? Is that on netflix?
I dunno, but it’s called District 13: Ultimatum.

Ah ok thanks I will have to keep an eye out for that. I also just finished watching Ever Since the World Ended which is a “documentary” about the 186 people left in the city of San Francisco. Its a little depressing but Adam Savage is in it so that is a plus! It is a an interesting look at what the hippies would do when they are faced with the end of the world.
If you watched District B13 and thought “This is awesome, but it would be so much better if the characters cross-dressed,” then have I got a movie for you.
Well don’t keep us in suspense.
That sounds like an ultimatum.

I was really surprised at how good District B13 was. I think it was the 2nd movie I watched on Instant. The sequel was good for the action scenes, but it was too much more of the same for me. That said, I would most likely watch a third.

Damn I just checked and the second one is not on instant. I would also like to know about the cross dressing ass kickers though.
I guess there will be no streaming tonight!
We’re sorry, the Netflix website and the ability to instantly watch movies are both temporarily unavailable.
However, our shipping centers are continuing to send and receive DVDs so your order is in process as usual.
I watched it this afternoon with high hopes and found it just irritated the hell out of me, largely because of the huge hippie to rational human being ratio. It was like watching a post-apocalyptic episode of Portlandia. That was even after giving them a pass for including the footage shot at the screening of the documentary in the screening of the documentary.

Well I do pretty much think they nailed what it would be like if everyone in San Fran died and just the hardcore hippies lived.
Point taken; I do admit a negative predisposition towards hippies. Throughout the movie, I was thinking “It’s the post-apocalypse, for crying out loud, rebuild some infrastructure already, you pot smoking morons.”

Haha ok I agree with that. I think that Adam did hit on that point a few times and I think he was kinda inferring that these dip shits couldn’t do it.
Honestly, I think it’s something better to be experienced than explained.
