Finished Journeyman, there are some odd scenes where the ‘journalist’ threatens folks with violence, which is kind of funny considering in this series he’s never really established as being any kind of bad ass, I feel like it was just trying to take advantage from the actor’s stint on Rome.

I’m in need of a good TV series to watch. Preferably Sci-Fi, but if its good, I’ll watch anything. I’ve seen and liked:

Journeyman
Kyle XY
Dresden Files

Any suggestions?

The Dresden Files series is good, but keep in mind the books are aa gajillion times better.

Does anyone have any info as to when this is coming to instant? I haven’t watched the series since it aired and would love to watch it again. I thought it was supposed to be available in April, but apparently not.

Heh, I didn’t mention any of the more popular ones we already watched, like BSG and Firefly, Stargate Universe, Avatar the series. Though I could always pop Firefly in on blueray if I get bored.

Four seasons of the original Twilight Zone are up, so if you aren’t too familiar with the show and don’t mind older black-and-white fare I’d give that a look. (It’s a beautifully shot show, too.)

We watched the first season and some of the second, but didn’t really grab us. It’s that show I can put on in the background when I’m doing something else, because it can’t hold my attention.

just started watching day break based on recommendation here. Only on episode 3, but I’m loving it. Groundhog Day is one of my fav movies and this is like Groundhog Day with a purpose and more consequences.

You could try the first season of Heroes, maybe. It wasn’t bad right out of the gate, though it did falter a bit by the time the season finale came along. And then ran right off a cliff when the second season started up. But the first season, man, that had some good moments.

After signing up for Netflix for a month I’ve decided it is great except for one thing, Netflix parental controls really suck. I can not believe how useless they are. You would think a major service would have this down pat by now.

  1. You can create additional accounts with parental controls but you can’t stream via these accounts. These restrictions are only for selecting what DVDs go into your queue.

  2. When you change the parental controls on your main account, it takes 24 hours for the change to go into effect. It also takes 24 hours for the change to reverse if you decide you want to go back to the previous setting to watch something.

  3. Even with the restrictions in place, everything in the previously watched list is still accessible.

  4. Many children’s programs fall into the unrated category so to watch them you have to have no controls in place at all.

So my only real option is my kids can never watch anything via any netflix streaming device and considering there really isn’t an alternative, that means I’m still tied to commercial TV. I was thinking about dropping my cable TV/TIVO combo since it is so expensive compared to how little we use it.
