Really? I was intrigued, but not enough to waste precious movie watching time. Maybe I’ll give it a shot.
I just watched Revolver. Don’t make the same mistake.
Seriously. No matter how much you may have liked other Guy Ritchie films, you will not enjoy Revolver. I pretty much guarantee it.
But, be sure to watch it if you like Donnie Darko, or other films that intentionally try to fuck with your mind to a degree where you can’t really tell if the movie is good or not, because you can’t understand what the hell the director is trying to say – without excess scrutiny and/or crib notes.
Don’t believe this man. I loved Donnie Darko. I love most of the films David Lynch and David Cronenberg have made. Fuck Revolver.
no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no

You guys just don’t ‘get’ the movie.
It’s about as subtle as a lead pipe to the skull.
Requiring scrutiny isn’t necessarily a bad thing in a work of art. It took me about a decade to get my head around “Hamlet,” and I probably won’t make head or tail of “Lear” for a few decades more…
… no, I’m not saying Richard Kelly is Shakespeare.
That’s exactly it, though. Revolver straight up explains what it’s supposed to be an allegory about. There’s no scrutiny required, no interpretation. it is flat out stated. And it’s really, really dumb.
Should I feel ashamed that I finally signed up for Xbox Live Gold and started up a Netflix account and all I’ve been using it for is as a Psych jukebox?
eh. so you’re not inclined to resign to maturity.
If it’s alright, then you’re all wrong.
Thank you, Netflix, for adding The Larry Sanders Show, and saving me $80 in the process.
That’s been on there for months, thank God.
True, but I’ve only now gotten around to watching it.
just finished the first season and i agree with the above. ruth wilson’s character got creepier yet sexier in every episode.
The wife and I have been watching “Life”, which I’d never heard of but we’ve really enjoyed. It’s sort of in the CSI/cop show realm. The hook is that the main character was a cop falsely imprisoned and after 13 years he’s freed and returns to work.
Cop/murder/mystery shows abound everywhere so it’s hard to really say why it works. It’s not CSI forensics though and it’s not action shoot-em-up. Lots of dialog.
Aahhh Life, so, soooo loved that show. Both seasons were great, and they actually wrapped it up well enough.
