Mass funzie #4 update! It’s progressing slowly, but has started to take the form of everyone hates Vesper for doing his Vegas’y thing. I’m steel police, JammaTal (you know, that guy from Pocket Tactics? Dude I invited e’ryone) is playing Sharrash. I got the unit with push, and a judge first turn. I placed them 100% defensively to make sure not to piss off the masses. VESPER STEALS MY PUSH UNIT AND SHOVES MY JUDGE INTO A MINE WHYYYY
JammaTal immediately mortared the thieving son-of-a-gun. Stealing hurts everyone, Vesper.
AND OH BOY I DID GET A MOVE!! HOT POTATO CONTINUES AND OPK GETS BURNT! I have all the lol’z now. [soon’s clyve-style Massfun]

This was one of those game you wish you could have recorded. Both Pal and i had the time to play live and the game went fast. After the board filled up and i was in a really bad position, i had to start a battle to clear the board using a well place “delayed” medic tile to take the least amount of damage i could. After that we took turns placing a tile and starting a battle. I pulled ahead with my triple hit net guy then started maneuvering my HQ out of the battle. A very well played game by both teams!

Ooo Scott explained this one to me. There was a unit hitting him on 3, and a bigger one hitting him on 2. He placed a medic to protect himself but he placed it in a spot that was netted. On 3, he took a hit but the medic didn’t react because it was netted and at the same time the net on his medic was destroyed. On 2, he got hit but now since the medic was free to do it’s thing, he was safe. Very tactical and awesome. I don’t think I’ve ever had the chance to do that!

Mass Funzie #5 update: this one has gone the same way as #7. I’m sitting pretty (prettiest moloch you’ve ever seen) in the upper corner while opk (outpost) and Jay (Borgo) smash at each other. There is one empty spot left, like 7, and just like 7 I am refusing to start the battle… unless they refuse for a couple turns and I can’t stand the weighty stares any long, again, like 7.

AT > AP in MP4 as Steel Police vs Rats. One little net turned the game into a sucker-hole-less madcap romp!
Apparently robotics doesn’t evolve much in 50 years, and holes are still our greatest foe. GG!

RESULTS FOR MASS FUNZIE 7 ARE IN:
clyve wins all the funmonies!! After I started that battle to end our board’s gridlock, those two (PAL_1 and soon) kept wailing on each other. PAL shoved soon into my netfighter, and I was no longer an innocent third party. I tried to toss a netfighter on PAL to even it up but he used some units and well placed armor to make sure it died. Soon, having lost all hope, sent his final unit over to ME and had him give me a smack. It ruined my stellar 20 HP :(

RESULTS FOR MASS FUNZIE 6 ARE IN:
Scottyboie wins the funmoney! Scott played Vegas, Jay was the jungle and I was NYC. Jay was the big threat out of the gate. Scott and I worked together to prune that unruly jungle back into a tiny Bonzi sized shrubbery and everything was peachy. That’s when Scott made his move and shoved me into the center of the board. Easily accessible to both jungle critters and loan sharks alike, NYC was a sitting duck. Vegas stole all my good bits and the jungle vines held the rest in place. Jay saw an opportunity to spread out and take the victory but at the last moment Vegas pivoted and smashed those blooms of death and laughed his way to the bank.
clyve, you have a gift for summary. I wonder if there is a NH commentator position available out there somewhere in the wild world of eSports or live board game tourneys:)
And I have yet to figure out a good way to hide early on in a multiplayer match of NH. You play the tiles you are given (I don’t think sandbagging makes any sense, to look weak and have your opponents focus elsewhere) and jungle is always going to worry everyone because they if you wait to deal with it, they lose.
Dave, thanks for the plug early on regarding the front page game diaries of Sentinels. I’ve loved doing them and glad Tom is willing to suffer my poor writing.

While I doubt anyone needs an NH commentator, I’ll continue to add flavor to my summaries. Wanna hear who won? Read this 2 paragraph explanation. What, you only wanted a one-line update? HAH! You don’t even KNOW what you want.

If I don’t hear from the participants in the last two games (Vesper, Joe, Jay) today sometime, I’ll x them all and we can move on. But please do feel free to let me know what progress is being made! And you can even argue that you deserve an o instead of an x based on the current board and your lack of an opponent.
Let’s shoot for the end of this week (Sunday) to finish up!
