I just set up ai game vegas vs outpost. Which i believe is worst matchup in game. Outpost won 18 to 16 but it played some sub optimal moves during game. When I’m playing a matchup if i can beat hard ai consistently, i think i might have a decent shot at another human. Vegas vs outpost is always tough.

I am loving melting pot and thinking about specific matchups and how to play them.

P.s is lost cities any good. Ive looked at it a few times but it seems like it might be too shallow…

Barricaded my Hq behind non combat units and chipped away at his base througout the game.

Is was able to get ahead in the damage race early in the game. As the board got saturated and Dave started to deal serious damage with his DDM “damage chains” things got difficult for me. I was lucky to escape some serious damage on my last turn. Good game Dave!

Melting Pot 5 playoffs start after next weekend! That’s a week.

That means we should start plotting for Melting Pot 6. This time, as aforementioned, I think we’ll choose in reverse order of finish in Melting Pot 5. With MP5 not quite finished, I clumped everyone into groups based on current record, and randomized the groups, and then stacked them, and put myself last, and I got:

Dealt some early damage. While he sacrificed some health to net some of my guys and place executioner. Then he started to close the gap while netting my base. But i managed to place my Rockets on the base for some late damage and keep the judges away!
