Is anybody still playing this? I skipped this when it came out on account of my PC being an old piece of old PC. Now that I’m getting a new one I’d want to jump in (I liked QW:ET very much), but not if the servers are mostly empty.
I see around 5-8 servers, limiting the ping to 150 and with 9 players or more.
So yes, it’s barely alive.
The player population should pop up during the free weekend, but I’m pretty sure it will slam right back down afterwards.

Then I’ll wait for BF3. I’ve had enough to do with endangered MP shooters with S8:P.

I played about three hours last night on the 360. A few matches against humans (they were all human, and there was very little lag). Given that I don’t know any of the maps’ layouts, I didn’t do to well.
I then started playing the single player campaign on Hard with the game open to the public (I passed about 4 levels on Normal the previous night, which was a cakewalk). Jesus these bots are hard! A few people even joined in to help, but I never won a map. It was very fun though.
I also did a few of the challenges to unlock new weapons. These were great, an interesting idea on training people to play the game correctly with some nice rewards for doing so.
Overall, I actually really like the game a lot. I’m a big fan of the Splash Damage team-based design philosophy. It isn’t as good as Quake Wars so far, but it is different enough to hold it’s own.
My only complaint so far is that, MAN can some of these levels turn into a blurry mess on the 360.

Woah, i just played some really sick games. Winning in Labs twice in sucession as attackers, in the first game i repaired the 2nd objective with the remaining time being 0:00 (the last 20% was done in the last 20 seconds, just in time!), and rushed the final objective. The second time it was a stalemate in the last objective, in the submarine, but we did it finally with a remaining time of 1.5 second.
Good Job! If the objective is active (being hacked, repaired, HE charge counting down etc.) the game will go into overtime until the objective is completed or the activity stops.
It’s back in the top ten on Steam. Hopefully the resurgence sticks.
I had a new gaming session… and this time it was horrible. Isuppose it’s just the influx of people coming from the free weekend. You could notice easily who were the new players. The ones who totally ignored the objectives, even being the right class and in the right place and without enemies around (!). Attacking is already hard enough in this game as it is so playing with half your team ignoring what it needs to be done is an exercise of desperation.
Try some stopwatch games. Those are set to have the attackers spawn slower so it’s more balanced even with the noobs.
So far I like it. I doubt I’ll get into the multiplayer before my new computer’s done, which is a pity. It seems like it could be a lot of fun.
Are stats working? It says I’ve only played like 2 hours… And I’ve played probably closer to 30 hours…

Side note, I really like the 2 new maps, lots of ways to get behind the enemy. :)
I hope if there is more DLC they won’t charge for it, I can’t see there being tons of people willing to pay, and it will just splinter the community, or like Bioshock2 , the new maps will never get played.
What it happened, it’s that the pc stats were only working since three weeks ago. I have played 70 hours (says Steam), not 15.
Nice to see they were on the ball with that…

Interesting how the Lulsec Hacking has effected me. When Brink was released I was all keen to sign up for this stat tracking service. Now, after changing and managing dozens of passwords, I’m asking myself, “do I really want another password to manage, my details in another list somewhere?” So I haven’t signed up.
Not just a Brink thing, its happened to me multiple times for other things.

Yes, though i think i am in in the last weeks. Still, in the end i played more than i thought i was going to do it.
