Yes, I get that. Although some of the epic-level quest-lines in WoW would have a continuation back at the home city (Stormwind in the Onyxia quest chain) that would have a procession, city-wide broadcast dialog from some NPCs during the scripted sequences, and then a city-wide free buff for everyone and fireworks.

And then, 10 minutes later, someone else does it and reminds you that your deeds were without merit and in fact meaningless in the long and short term.

Not meaningless because you got phat loot! Heh. You don’t really play MMORPGs for the same reason as you play a single player RPG, really. If you’re looking to “beat the game and watch the cutscene” it’s the wrong thing to buy.

Which is why I indeed really don’t play MMOs. I play for the story, which they’re mostly lacking. Guild Wars did a nice job on faking it though, I’ll say that. And EVE/Burning Sea are just different beasts entirely, also Seed but nobody plays that.

The EverQuest style lost the appeal to me ages ago for just being infinite feelings of not mattering.

I know this is just me but that gun really bothers me. The drum magazine is too far forward, it unbalances the gun. The magazine should be between where you place you two hands on the gun, between the trigger hand and the hand holding the barrel, not in the very front. It’s like chalk scratching on a blackboard for me, and I don’t know why . . . maybe NMA is rubbing off on me . . .

Nah, I think it looks wrong too. I’m no gun expert but I think the ammo is typically loaded into the breech of the barrel. All of that barrel behind the magazine (which makes up most of the barrel actually) is wasted. I’m trying to imagine how absurdly long the firing pin would need to be to trigger that gunshot. Oh well, not a big deal.
