I’d say the 360 version for the better download support, and if you like achievments, there’s that.
My understanding (aka, potential wrongness) is that the 360’s hardware is better suited for open worlds and streaming than the PS3. If that’s true, I’d call it my deciding factor were I not just getting it on PC.

Thanks, it sounds like the 360 for me as I don’t feel like a PC upgrade just yet, and I do like playing from the couch.

And it has Blast Processing!

Oh, I want to play with the dragster, not the old milk delivery truck.
Well, the important thing to remember from the NMA preview is that it’s not Fallout (that goes without saying). It’s compulsory to stress that it’s a spin-off, and not actually a sequel. It’s the biggest distinction you can make.
The overall quality of the game’s content is a distant second, really.
Absolutely. It’s clearly set in an alternative alternative timeline.
There’s F-canon and that’s the Fallout canon in the first game. Then there’s F2-canon, which is the canon in the second game. F-canon always supercedes F2-canon. Then there’s T-canon, which covers the content of Fallout Tactics. F2-canon always supercedes T-canon. Then there’s C-canon, which covers the content of non-slash, non-furry Fallout fanfics. T-canon always supercedes C-canon. Then there’s B-canon, which covers the content of Brotherhood of Steel. C-canon always supercedes B-canon. Then there’s S-canon, which covers the content of all all non-furry slash Fallout fanfics. B-canon always supercedes S-canon. Then there’s Y-canon, which covers the content of all yiffy slashy Fallout fanfics. S-canon always supercedes Y-canon. Then there’s TNG-canon, which covers the content of all Star Trek/Fallout crossover fics. And finally, there’s 3-canon, which covers the contents of Fallout 3. All other forms of canon supercede 3-canon.

Fuck yeah, Blast Processing! I’m gonna play Sonic Drift RIGHT NOW.
There were two different critical animations with SMGs. With Bloody Mess, there was only one.

That’s the only one I need.
Thinking about it more, it was mainly the sound.

I never got tired of melting people into goo with my Turbo Plasma Rifle.

It boggles the mind. How can you get tired of melting people into goo? HOW??/
Best death animations clearly goes to the Crusader No Regret/No Remorse titles… ;)
My point is Bloody Mess removed cool animations from the game in favor of just the most extreme ones. You can still get those without the bloody mess trait. Late game laser rifles guaranteed it.
Portions of that NMA preview make no sense. For example:
I think (from what I saw of the demo) the dialogue is well done, if not decent.
So it’s not decent, but it’s well done? Buh? It’s almost like he couldn’t bear to give an unhedged compliment.
Yes, but Fallout was a close second. Besides all the gore animations, they had exploding, burning, melting, and vaporizing. They were missing freezing, unfortunately. Maybe F3 will get that one.
I’ve always felt that varied death animations were a goldmine that many developers skimped on. Nothing keeps you playing the same levels over and over again quite like watching the enemies die in a wide variety of ways.
The dialogue is obviously still in its underwear.
As long as they’re Aquaman Underoos, I’m okay with that.

Fallout missed out on “falling into pits” and “off high ledges.” Those are the ones that have kept me coming back to Star Wars games for so very, very long. Stormtroopers falling into infinite chasms.
Gonna be a lot of cleaning up to do once I get to TFU…gonna be a lot of corpses splattered against the bottom decks of star destroyers…

It’s so satisfying in Fallout to, for example, fire a machine gun burst at someone and instead of getting the usual damage effect that you’ve gotten the last 5 times you’ve used that gun, seeing the raider dance around like Sony Corleone as chunks of him fly off.
I also never picked Bloody Mess - not because I didn’t like those animations (the contrary), but because it was so much more satisfying to occasionally be rewarded with one, and because there was more than 1 cool animation death and I didn’t want to miss out on any of them in favor of the most violent one.
