No I am annoyed on the steam only option. Hinterland is a game my one son might want to play and I am actively avoiding steam for games that others in the family might want to play. Fallout 3 on steam isn’t an issue since I’m the only one who will play it.

I like steam but having a bunch of games tied to a single account that can only be logged on to one computer at a time is a drag.

Ok. However, can’t you create a different Steam account for your son’s computer? Or are you juggling this on one computer?

Seems like there would be a way to get around the problem, but I don’t know if Steam offers parental controls or anything like that.

At some point we will get there. We aren’t there yet. I just want to be able to install a game on the boys’ computer and not have to worry who is logged on and where if it will work. Buy the game via Impulse or Direct 2 Drive would solve that for my needs.

I wish there was some way to quickly tell which games were being offered with Release Date shipping. You have to put it in your cart and get to the shipping selection screen before you can tell.

Yeah, I’ve had the survival edition pre-ordered since they announced it and have an Amazon Prime membership but didn’t receive any communication from Amazon that it was even available.

Well, for me (with Prime) it announced the free release date shipping at the top of the F3 screen where my one click options usually are. And it mentioned it again right above the description paragraph.

But yeah, that’s probably one mailing list I’d subscribe to. Let me know which upcoming releases are rd shipping free, and I’m there.

Huh. Saints Row 2 and Fable 2 are release day shipping, but Dead Space and GHWT are not. I guess it’s more common than I thought, and hopefully it will become more consistently available.

Yeah, I did that but like I said I’ve had this order since April I think… If something changes related to the product on your order I’d expect some sort of automated e-mail about it. Wouldn’t have had any idea if not for a thread at BGS’ forums.

Huh. I was just able to change it for my Collector’s Edition pre-order. Double-weird that buying the fancy Pip-Boy edition doesn’t get you the fancy shipping.

That sucks. I didn’t even know you could do this till I saw your post, so imagine my relief when it let me make the change. Speed was the only reason I didn’t order from them exclusively.

That was stupid of him/her, why not just make an offline account to play FO3, looks like they’ve spent alot of time on achievments and such for that profile that will now be lost.

Wow – I love, love, LOVE the achievement graphics on this game. Wish other games cough TR:Anniversary cough would take a cue from this. =)
