I’m still laughing at the idea that the game was leaked to get the truth out

Well so far the truth hasn’t made it even as far as NMA, so I don’t know how effective it will be.

However, I have an image of Draikin furiously rubbing his hands together with glee at the prospect of being the hero who “reveals the truth” about Fallout 3 to the world. He may also have spooged on himself.

:-)

It’s more than Tim Cain merely reserving judgement about the game. He said that he liked what he’s seen so far. Basically, using the same information that NMA is using to argue that the game violates the spirit of the franchise Tim Cain, the guy who created said spirit, has determined that he might like the game.

In other words, NMA has some reconciling to do and I’m not at all surprised by the weird ass contortions they’re pulling over there to try and cope with this devestating news. Mitigating it in their own minds by boiling it down to “he’s just reserving judgment to be political and professional” is just the most rational form of that coping.

I’m not at all surprised by Cain’s reaction and I find it weird that some people at NMA would be. After all, Cain and Troika went down the FP real-time combat RPG route with their vampire game, something Cain and crew said was something they had been interested in for some time. That should have clued off the NMA fanatics that Cain wasn’t as attached to turn-based isometric RPG’s as they are.

Or maybe Tim Cain is a sensible and reasonable guy who didn’t decide to hate the game from the get-go.

Draikin is going to DISPELL THE LIES by pirating a game he says is bound to be AWFUL, and PROVING it to all of us dirty game buyers. He’ll SHOW US ALL and be FIRST to do it! (Right after he waits 6 years for Tom to accidentally unban everyone during another forum software upgrade.)

This is probably just a reviewer with one of the first retail copies. I would guess pirates would be pretty well aware of the need to stay low profile.

Isn’t letting everyone know that “I’M THE FIRST§§§” part of the pleasure of pirating a game ?

Potentially, but usually not at the expense of one’s online access, I would imagine. Unless he decided this was the last time he wanted to be first and feels like blowing his 25,000+ point e-peen.

Which, really, would simply indicate that Fallout 3 is that damn good.

Fallout 3 was an inside job

Looking at Draikins post ending with his download speed, I think you have to much faith in other peoples intelligence.

So, I can find a lot of motivational poster pics depicting a die roll of a natural 20, but that doesn’t really fit. Can someone find me a natural 1 somewhere?

He’s just playing with you, boys.

Pretty sure this guy isn’t a reviewer.

Geeze, no kidding. The game hands out Achievements for things that you can’t NOT do?

Hey, Soulcalibur 4 gives you an achievement for loading up the game.

The simpsons game gave you an achievement for pressing start.

Oblivion gave you an achievement for exiting the tutorial dungeon. Same company, same situation, same achievement.
