So, how about that Fallout 3, then?

I officially declare this thread a disaster.

The Mayor of this thread should call in FEMA and apply for emergency federal funds.

I see what you did there.

He rocked you like a hurricane.

I don’t think many people really care about cliffski and his tantrums but talking about piracy(games or whatever) after Tom already mentioned it wasn’t cool with him is probably not good. Not to mention the developers or game industry folks that dwelve in these forums will probably not find it funny either.

And if that moron some pages ago didn’t know the status of this subject here on QT3, he should just lurk more and post less.

Jesus. He’d already apologized, and I think he’d gotten the idea.

And if the subject is avoided entirely, how the fuck would any amount of lurking inform anyone of the climate?

No there isn’t. It’s impossible to download a pirated game without helping the bad pirates in some way. Be it page views for banner ads or letting others download from you as you torrent (which many trackers enforce).

My whole point is that I don’t do it because it is bad, in that it supports pirates. I see nothing else wrong with it. You can make petty arguments like “illegal is illegal”, but if it were a victimless crime (hypothetical, it is not a victimless crime) then I’d be all over it.

Don’t worry, the “Fallout 3, I’ve actually played it!” trailers are en route.

were I a wealthy man, no matter what happened with Fallout 3, I’d personally pay for Fallout 4 and 5

Not to get back on topic, but there are two things that I’ve seen that I don’t like in what appears to be an otherwise excellent game:

  1. The NPC faces just seem to be blank templates. No matter the situation, whether one is angry or perturbed at the player, or excited to see them, the expression really doesn’t change very much. Mass Effect did this much better, I think.

  2. You can point your gun at an NPC forever without any reaction. Which also allows you to walk up to them, pull out your gun, and just blow them away without them doing a thing (unless they survive the first shot). They really should have implemented a system like Stalker where as long as your gun is out, people have their guns out and act very agitated around you.

These two flaws weaken the immersiveness and pull me out of the game.

Haven’t bought Fallout 3, haven’t pirated Fallout 3, plan on doing neither.
Maybe, someday, I’ll play it at a friend and then I can proudly stamp my seal of approval on the suckage label I attached to it.
…or I’ll just wait a year after it’s been up and see if there are enough negative reviews about important issues to drive the wedge deep onto the vampire’s heart.

Also,
PA’s fallout comic was likely far more amusing than what meager entertainment I may gain from playing fallout 3.

Negativity Nanny, signing off.

P.S.
FU pirates!
FU publishers!
FU importers!

Only devs deserve any respect, everyone else are mooching middlemen/middleleeches (and to some degree, I guess that’s also true in regards to gamers).

Well, thank GOD you’re better than the rest of us!

Is there any particular reason you’re so down on Fallout 3 Foxstab? Did you not like Morrowind or Oblivion? Is it a case where you just don’t like first person RPGs, or is it something specific about Fallout 3 that’s got you so upset?

FO3 will handle the third-person over-the-shoulder PoV as well, won’t it?

It’s a gaming discussion forum with industry people on it. If that doesn’t give a BIG FUCKING CLUE about wheter it’s ok or not, i don’t know what would.

MSU Steve: It’s a combination of many elements…forget it, it’s trifle, I’m a very petty person.

Oh, hell no, I’m way worse.
I simply realized that if a game ain’t good enough for me to go out and buy it with my hard earned money, then it’s retarded to go through the trouble of wasting my CPU cycles to pirate it and then wasting my precious time on playing it.
If it deserves your attention, it deserves your money as well.
If not, then it deserve neither.
You can’t both eat the cake and expect it to remain full; attempting to dance on both weddings only ends up with you losing the experience of both events.

“And what if you bought it thinking it’s good but then it turned out garbage?”
Sue the mother fuckers for labeling it a triple-A.

“What if it’s not considered triple-A?”
Was it a good indie piece, then? No? Check reviews. It’s your fault.

Watching the live feeds I’ve seen a few things like this… during the tutorial/childhood part of the game there was one video where the PC had gotten back to his playpen before Liam returned to the room, but he still got the “you’re such a little explorer/adventurer” dialog from Pop. Also during the birthday party, the Overseer’s daughter and Liam carry on a conversation about you as you stand right behind them. A little later on in the game the PC stole a bunch of things from Shrapnel (arms dealer in Rivet City) and sold it right back to him (he was sitting 3 feet away facing his newly emptied shelves)…

Still, I didn’t really expect great leaps forward in that sort of thing after playing Oblivion. I am pretty happy with the look of the world though. The interiors look great and seem to do a good job of drawing you in.

Nah man. I come to message boards to read others’ thoughts. I’m genuinely interested in why you’re not into FO3, especially because the pervading opinion is that the game is going to be awesome. That’s an opinion I share, but I’m always interested in the other side of the coin. Some people see any negative or counter opinion as trolling, but I don’t think that’s necessarily the case.

I imagine it would mean different things to different people.

My sole thought here being that aggression does not benefit education, nor does insult favor communication. And I’ll desist further comment on the issue beyond this.

So, fuck, what say we have a good Friday? Hurrah.

Also, if anyone is curious the Vault has been updated with all of Fallout 3’s perks:
