In the Fallout-verse the Chinese invaded by way of Alaska and the front was pushed back to China by the time the nukes dropped. I think the way they’re presented in the game is as a sort of “sleeper” cell sort of thing though and that would make sense since they’ve got Chinese Spec Op manuals all over that increase your sneak skill.

There is a place where you get some details about the attack on Washington DC that better explains the Chinese presence.

Neat. Looking forward to finding it.
If you hack the computer at the food factory where they’re based, you’ll find a message that talks about the setting up of a sleeper cell.

A uniformed sleeper cell?
Anyway, is there a quest connected to the food factory at all?

Huh? Can you really just use any container on the world as your personal storage? And the items stay there indefinitely? I’m just a few hours out of the Vault and that would make things a LOT easier.
Why are you picking those up in the first place?
Or you can just fast travel to your apartment and drop it into your locker? Then fast travel back?

I’m fresh out of the Vault so I don’t have an apartment yet. I’ve been mostly exploring the surrounding wasteland instead of rushing the main storyline.
BTW, i am in the food factory, Mamma’s Dolce. I found a special key, a chinese sargeant was carrrying it, it’s like for an electronic device, not a normal key. But i didn’t found any machine to use it in the place. Also i found a big door in the yard which needs a key i don’t have.
Anyone have the location of the “door” or machine to the first key, or the location of the normal key for the yard?

Damn! I’ve just put about five hours into my evil playthrough, and now I read there’s a patch coming already… I don’t even dare think about the odds of it not breaking saved games. :(

The patch is nothing big, it just fixes a nastry crash problem for some people.

They probably didn’t put the uniforms on until after the war started. :)
Any container will do. Just pick one near the entrance of a place you can fast travel to which is usually clear of enemies. Obviously, one that isn’t owned by someone else.
Are you certain of that? I recall reading somewhere that after a few days, you could potentially lose equipment unless it is stored in containers at your residence.
As long as we’re recommending cool random factory encounters, I encourage everyone to check out the Red Racer Factor and make sure you get to the management offices that are upstairs.
Also: Check out the Hubris Comics building, especially the computer terminals.

So … where’s that patch?
Ô_o
You have a peculiar definition of “nothing big”. I’ve been crashing increasingly more frequently as I play. From once per day to every other time I enter VATS.
Patch notes while you wait :P
