I’ll always be sad that that Unreal engine Werewolf game got canceled.
We’re Pentex!
They announced the composer:
May 7, 2008 (Rockville, MD) — Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax Media company, announced today that Inon Zur has created the original musical score for Bethesda Softworks’ highly anticipated post-apocalyptic video game, Fallout® 3. Zur, an award-winning composer, has created numerous scores for films, television, and new media.
The guy who scored FO: Tactics.
Music samples for rabid fans who yearn to piss in someone’s mouth:
The Megaton track reminds me of Jagged Alliance 2 (or maybe I’m thinking of a different game) for some reason…
Anyways, not the best fit, but not bad by any means.
I can’t wait to see how the NMA crowd extrapolates absolute proof of Fallout 3’s shittiness just from knowing the composer’s name.
Ahhh, that would explain why the NMA’tards are quoting the french review and using it as TEH TRUTH!
The main title song is bad-ass. Listening to the other ones next.
Music is ok. I liked Oblivion’s music a bit more for some reason.
I like the Megaton theme a lot. I hope more of the soundtrack is like that.
The main theme is a bit more bombastic than I think is fitting (for past Fallouts anyway), and the wasteland track is heavier with the orchestral washes than I’d like, but oh well. I’ll probably turn the music volume down in the Options menu (I do this with most games), but I doubt I’ll replace them… on the first play-through anyway.

Not bad. I like the opening theme a lot.

I can live with Inon Zur. I don’t recall the music in Tactics being an issue.
I wonder if this was the music the french guy heard. I wouldn’t really call it “classical.”
Edit: The NMA reaction is mixed. Some of them like the samples and the majority are happier it wasn’t something worse. Only a few total haters.
Tenacious D should do F3’s music. It would rokk your cokks.
Sounds like Fallout to me, I like it. A little more orchestral than before, I think, but it’s good. I actually forgot I was listening to it with Megaton, which is perfect. It’s ambient and blends in, just popping out really when I get to it or stop for a second, then I notice. Same as the music for Fallout was, I could imagine this for some radscorp filled caves.
Nice, I like all three tracks. Anticipation building!
This is good music. Megaton brings up memories of New Reno.
Really? That’s interesting. Any handy links to that discussion?

Megaton is really REALLY freakishly similar to the mainmap music in JA2.
Only, its not as good :D
Main theme is ok but sounds like its for a fantasy game somehow.
Not that I care, rarely pay attention to game soundtracks.

After hearing the Main Title I was worried that the soundtrack would be too grandiose or epic ala Oblivion instead of more muted and suble like the old Fallouts but the other two tracks are just what I want. Good stuff.
Who cares?
Bethsoft will make whatever Bethsoft will make.
Wait a year, trash talk it later after it’s out.
No no no. Now you’re thinking logically. That doesn’t work here; this is the internet, you know.
