Space Invaders Extreme is coming out with new DLC tomorrow night, Wednesday, June 17, 2009. There will be three new stages, new enemies, and new bosses. Additionally, the expansion pack will contain two emulators of the original black-and-white Space Invaders and 8-bit color Space Invaders 2!
that sounds like pretty good content for just 240 points.

Is this a repeat: http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/975/975943p1.html
Military madness for xbox live!
Thats cool. (come on someone do Herazog Zwei!)
I picked up Rocket Riot for $10 bucks today and have been having a blast(!) with it. The gameplay is fairly simple, but it’s polished. It also doesn’t hurt that the graphics ooze style.
Take a look at the Giant Bomb quick look. They can explain the game better than I.
Fighting games fans get a great surprise this week on XBLA.
MotW is easily one of the best SNK fighters ever made, and everyone interested in the genre should try it. That arcade stick purchase continues to pay off.
I enjoy it very much. I normally don’t like higher twitch skill games like this but the art / music style sucked me in.
Sadly, though, I’m stuck on the second boss in campaign mode – not sure I’ll ever have the skill to beat it. =/
At the moment, the release date is only for Japan.

Edit: I take that back, numerous sources are saying it’s this week in the US, as well. We shall see.
I bought Sam and Max without even looking at reviews after hearing on Giant Bombcast that the controls had been changed for the 360 so that you are in direct control of your character and didn’t have to deal with using a gamepad to control a point-and-click cursor.
…
The Giant Bombcast guys are wrong. :(
Still, a good buy. Funny game. Not sure it even would have worked with direct control over the character. Still, I can only play it for so long before I get annoyed with having to move the slow-ass cursor around everywhere.

I guess I can finally retire my Turbo Grafix 16.
The second boss of the campaign was tough for me as well. Those homing boxes are tenacious. The way I beat him was to keep a fair amount of distance between the boss and my character, shoot the boxes down in a straight line, and plenty of hit and run tactics.
Vincent19, thanks for the Rocket Riot recommendation. So far this gem has been worth every penny. Personally, I’d put it in the same class as Castle Crashers and Lode Runner.

I’m surprised at the love for rocket riot, it looked like a worms clone to me from the screenshots, am I wrong?
You coulda done that like six months after the Wii came out as it’s been available since near launch on the Virtual Console.
This is the same game with a graphical makeover apparently.
I honestly don’t know, having not gotten around to playing Worms myself. I’ve heard that comparison, though. The Giant Bomb guys seemed to agree that it feels like a remake of some imaginary Amiga game and coined the term, “faux retro”. All I know is, it’s got a unique concept and control scheme, and seems like something the devs spent a lot of time polishing. Watch the video.
I can see where people are drawing the comparisons to Worms, but Rocket Riot is a totally different style of game.
Yes, you blow up plenty of terrain in both games, but that’s pretty much where the similarities end. Worms is about strategically making use of your weapons and environment, while Rocket Riot is far more twitch-based.
I tried out the Multiplayer recently, and it’s pretty much pure chaos. Particles and rockets are filling the screen constantly. It was a ton of fun once I got the hang of hitting a target with a brain. If enough Qt3ers jump on the bandwagon, I could see the multiplayer providing some fun times.
Looks a lot like Liero. Will pick up.
Sweet. We need to conduct a virtual cereal bowl.
(Cereal Bowl = Tournament) Cathcart, where are you?
