Yeah, I read somewhere recently that it was going to be 800 points.

Didn’t they redo the graphics? Turtles in Time is a much better game.

Any word on the Tour de France XBLA game (http://www.cycling-manager.com/pcm/index.php?rub=game-xbla) coming out this year? I was hoping they’d be able to release it just before or at least during the TdF but, well… Looks like they missed it.

Looks like Madballs will be this week, along with the Monkey Island remake.

Yup. Turtles in Time is getting a full 3D makeover for better or worse.

Downloaded Madballs tonight. Good looking game and good controls. Worth the free download. My son and I are excited for some Worms 2 battles, too.

I haven’t bought a XBLA game in a long time.

Last night I bought Monkey Island, Ikaruga, and almost pulled the trigger on Madballs too, but I restrained myself.

The thing about Madballs is: it’s got balls in it. You’re a ball, and you’re rolling around. I adore Marble Blast Ultra. It’s one of my favorite games of all time. But as Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 have taught me: not all ball games are to my liking, especially when they have weird physics. So far Madballs seems awesome, but you’re not just a ball, you can also shoot and do other things, which makes me a little leary. I think I’ll play through it at least one more time before I decide.

On a different note: HOLY SCHMUPS! Dave Long, but especially LonelyGeekFest, are amazing at Ikaruga. I’m going to get nowhere near their high scores for Stage 1.

Ikaruga is a bit too puzzle like in the high score mechanic for me.

Beating Dave Long’s score was my primary goal in Ikaruga. I learned to keep a chain going until the middle of level 2, but I still absolutely suck at everything after that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the level 4 boss.

Turtles in Time Re-Shelled is absolutely soulless. It has no reason being more than $5.

Ha! Did you do it? I haven’t looked in awhile, and I didn’t spend enough time with the XBLA game to match some of my Dreamcast scores IIRC.

Why is Turtles in Time soulless?

My dad designs arcades and amusement centers, so I quite literally grew up surrounded by arcade machines. Turtles in Time was one of my favorites. My dad would fill the game up with credits and my brother and I would play for hours. So far, from what I’ve seen of TiT (hardy har!), the only thing that bothers me is that the bosses don’t flash faster and faster as their health drains.

I wasn’t even interested in trying the demo for a game called “splosion man”, but Eurogamer has a positive review of the game, so I’ll have to give the demo a try. Has anyone here tried it out yet?

Splosion man has been getting a lot of 9s actually.

My wife loved The Maw, so I’ll be picking up the demo (at the very least) for her.

I bought 'Splosion Man, action-puzzlers aren’t my thing but the game just oozes personality. Sadly it makes you restart when you unlock.

Is 'Splosion Man gory? One of those things that can be hard to tell from the descriptions.

Scientists explode into things like rib eye steaks, sausages, hams and the like. So no, not really.

Speaking of being soulless.

Splosion man looks really cool. I plan on picking it up.
