This game is worth buying just for the “Donuts” song.
'Splosion Man is actually a very cool game - I’m having a lot of fun with it. I can’t seem to get a multiplayer match going for very long before I get randomly disconnected, though.
And yes, the Donut song is awesome.
Twisted Pixel are really good at creating characters with lot of personality. The Maw then this, they definitely have some talent over there.
'Splosion man has mostly been a ton of fun… but there are definitely parts that (in my opinion) are impossible beat without tons of dying (which is a pet peeve of mine), some of the checkpoint placement is annoying, and they do this thing where they place a puzzle that involves some waiting to beat right after a checkpoint and right before a puzzle that you are likely to die on a ton before you figure it out. But the main dude is so much fun to play that it mostly makes up for these annoyances.

Yeah the difficulty ramps way up, nothing impossible for me yet though. Just when you get tired of it the game does something awesome and you forgive it.

I did specifically cite Re-Shelled.
Co-op on 'Splosion Man is way fun.
Also, don’t let Jon_Danger tell you he isn’t good at games (see Red Faction thread). Not only is he better than me at Red Faction, but also at 'Splosion Man.

I guess I have low game self esteem. I would agree that it was fun. Sorry I had to skip out, had a phone call.
Is Tide of Iron still in the works for XBLA? I would buy an Xbox just for that game.
I love that Splosion man has multiple animations for the same actions. I think he has 4 different running animations for instance, may favorite of which is when he does airplane arms.
Tried the 'Splosion Man demo last night, had a blast, then this morning my console decided she wanted to have a blast too and 'sploded. Perfectly timed RROD I might say.
Heheh. 'Splosion console. Hopefully you’ll get your replacement soon.

My favorite thing about 'splosion man is the really cool dynamic music. The guitar riffs change in time with your explosions, and it sounds like it was completely natural for the soundtrack.
Just an FYI they get the bit about the boss completely wrong, using their strategy to avoid the lasers is guaranteed frustration. What you really do is run to the side of the screen and simply jump at the last second. It’s really not that hard, but trying to hide under the platforms like they did is REALLY hard.

You don’t even have to jump, and you can trick him into firing the direction you aren’t at.
'Splosion Man not doing anything for me. It’s cute and all and it is a good game. I’m finding the timing needed to do some of the traps a bit too difficult. Often I see what is needed to be done right away then I spend 15 minutes trying to get the timing right. Killing any fun I was having.
My big problem with the 1-16 boss fight was mostly self-inflicted–after the laser phase, I was expecting that there was some other execution necessary other than just using the missile spam. I thought that surely the fist slam that flung hapless scientists into the air was the key, and kept trying to get thrown up above his head by the fist slam, which was very much not a key. It just felt very wrong for 'Splosion Man to win that by mostly standing in the corner; that’s not very tao of 'sploding.
You can use the scientists that catch on fire and are launched in the air to boost up and explode near the robots face during the fist slam part.
Huh. I thought that was the intent, but never got it to work. It mostly just worked to let him flick me into the screen and start over.
