Is it easy to share levels? That’s been a sticky point in some previous games like N+, where it was possible but cumbersome.

Sadly, the game does limit you to your friends list in terms of downloading created levels. I’ve heard various explanations as to why, but the bottom line is that it still sucks, particularly with how robust the editor is.

I hope some of you guys are good at making levels…

Okay, I tried some medium levels and they are definitely more challenging than the easier ones. But that’s cool, and it reminds me a little of GripShift in that regard. That was also one of those addictive “I’ve got to improve my best time” games. It’s a shame nobody else played Gripshift, but I’m happy to see that at least this game seems to be popular, as there’s already more than 23k people on the leaderboards.

Btw, if someone is up for some friendly leaderboards competition, then feel free to send me a friend request. I’m currently in the top 100 on the first level (although, sadly, my other times aren’t that good).

Got Trials HD. I like it, but man are some of you guys way way better at it than me.

In other news a Panzer General game announced

I’m very tempted by it. The demo is excellent.

Oooooh! Card game meets board game? I like the sound of that.

Anybody that’d like to add me as a friend please feel free to – my gamertag is “BigWeather”. I have quite a few XBLA games and suck at most of them so if you are looking to feel better about your own scores look no further than adding me to your list.

Oh God. If that Panzer General game plays as good as it looks, I’m doomed.

Yeah, that’s a Day 1 purchase for me. Panzer General + CCG with MP? I’ll take two, please.

It’s missing one thing…hexes. If it had hexes it would be perfect.

Doom 2 coming to XBLA. FINALLY! I don’t know about everyone else here, but I always thought Doom 2 was head and shoulders above the quality of the original Doom. Everything from the level design to the monster design to the inclusion of the Super-shotgun just made it a much, much better game.

And seeing how well the original Doom played on XBLA with the 360 controller, I can’t wait to get my hands on this.

Heh, I’m glad they had the side by side shot. I was worried that the XBox wouldn’t be able to render Doom2 in it’s full glory.

BigWeather, I’ve sent you a friends request, I look forward to an even more robust list of friends to slowly inch past. Brakara, it seems you’re my current friends-list rival, but I promise I’m coming for your times. If anyone wants to add me, my gamertag is “Mageical”.

I’ve managed to make it up to the final hard course, and it’s been a hell of a challenge so far. Many of the hard courses are just brutal, but it feels so great when you finally slip past a trouble spot. It’s one of the most gratifying games I’ve played in a long time in that regard. Hmm, I wonder how gratifying it would be to make it thorough some of those courses with zero faults…

Finally, I’ve been dabbling in the level creator and having a great time. So far I have one (crappy) map up, but I should be putting up more (crappy) maps in the near future.

I finally got gold on your map, Vincent. 12.544 seconds. I’m sure you have it handily beat though. Although it was short, and I guess you didn’t spend too much time on it, it still was fun. So I’m looking forward to see more of your maps. Sucks that they have no leaderboards though, but that would probably require too much storage.

The replay functionality is really cool. I just watched you on Jolly Jumper, and, yeah, I’ll never beat that. I still have a hard time landing and getting proper friction on those slopes. And the harder levels are really hard. But, as you said, it’s very gratifying to finish them. It’s incredible tough to master them though. Oh well, at least one can always return to the easier levels.

So, it looks like I would be buying every game of Summer of Arcade except Turtles, so now the question is, do I buy it effectively for free to get the 800 points to use later for something else? Seems like I should as it’s essentially free right? I’m going to have to go read up on the details on that promotion again.

I accepted last night and I’m sure you’ve found that you haven’t a worry about having to get past my scores, haha. Still, I will work on passing you on at least one level (though I may have you beat in ski jump as of last night)!

Scrap Metal looks really cool, like a modern Death Rally.

Note to game devs: while your game may look great on video, you probably don’t.

That’s one of my big pet peeves too. Just talk and show game footage at the same time, I don’t need to see game devs.

Three XBLA games released this week. Anyone try any of them out? What the heck is Zombie Apocalypse? Can it actually be as good as “I Made a Game with Zombies in it” which is only $1?

Ion Assault looks like some kind of space shooter maybe? And I keep forgetting what the third game is.

I tried two of these out last night. Like you, I don’t even remember what the third game this week is.

Ion Assault is terrible – very little fun to be had here. It features poor controls and uninteresting gameplay.

Zombie Apocalypse is a joyless twin-stick shooter designed to cash in on the zombie craze started by Left 4 Dead. Stick with “I Made A Game With Zombies In It”, which is far more inspired.
