I haven’t played the sp in awhile, but I seem to remember it being fairly short at the time (as in around 8 hours).

8 hours?!? I remember it being way longer than that. Not as long as Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, but quite a bit longer than most other shooters I’d played at the time. It could just be that I got stuck on some missions for a long time though. I do remember being stuck on the British missions a lot and dying a long. Back then I always used to play on the hardest difficulty (I did with MoH:AA), so I suspect I did the same with CoD back then. I think this was the days before the almost-infinite grenades, right? So maybe that’s why it took me way longer than 8 hours.

Same here. I remember I told slantz that I didn’t really care for tower defense games, but the alien-tower-defense-game-whose-name-I-can’t-remember-just-now has brought me around; that plus zombies is enough to pique my interest. Plus, I liked that cute song.

Yeah, I’ve only played it on normal. I’m sure it takes much longer on veteran (especially on the first run).

I’m fairly ignorant of the genre so maybe I’m not using the right terminology. I played the demo back when it released on pc so I can see that it doesn’t play the same as Defense Grid (oh yeah, that’s what it’s called!) but I guess it’s the best pigeonhole I could think of for the gameplay. Anyway, I plan to give it another crack when it’s available on XBLA.

Since they’ve also announced The Second Encounter HD, I’d recommend waiting for that instead. It’s the better game of the two (mostly because it is not all Egypt all the time).

To be clear, it is the DLC that will be sold for 400 points, not the game itself. But perhaps the game will be on sale too in the holiday sale period. Who knows?

It’s not uncommon for XBLA games to go on sale when their DLC is released.

For example, Peggle went from 800 to 400 points for a week when the Peggle Nights DLC became available.
