The greatest possible late Christmas gift I could have gotten this year is the Titans bouncing the Patriots in Foxborough on Wildcard Weekend.

Lawdy, I have the vapours.

Unbelievable coaching. King Henry!

More time for golf with your buddy Don, Tommy boy.

Now for my Vikes --hail mary full of grace… could be an upset year. Who knows.

I was sure they were going to get burned for that clock-draining penalty stunt but Edelman dropped a pass for once and they got away with it.

NE would have done the same thing.

Kirk Cousins has it!

(wait what am I saying?)

Sad Tom Brady is best Tom Brady.

No doubt TB is the best… he is so good that when they had 15 secs I still thought they could win.

Edelman dropped that pass which was so unlike him …. and the Titans burned that clock. Don’t be sad about Tom – he may even bounce back next year and crush everything!

Since 2003, these have been the AFC Quarterbacks in the Super Bowl: Brady, Roethlisberger, Manning, Brady, Roethlisberger, Manning, Roethlisberger, Brady, Flacco, Manning, Brady, Manning, Brady, Brady, Brady.

None of these guys will be in this year’s Super Bowl.

If BB brings back Brady next year he deserves to be fired. Tom is so obviously done.

Announcers can be dumb. One of them said the Patriots might be better off after the pick six since they would be at the 25 instead of the 1. He was assuming the Titans would kick it too deep to return.

So you’re at the 1 and you need to get into FG range to WIN the game. Or you can be at the 25 and need a TD to TIE the game. With the latter you need 75 yards. To simply get a FG you need about 65 for a decent shot at it.

Both outcomes were highly unlikely, but the Patriots needing 65 yards vs 75 yards is clearly better, and a chance at an outright win instead of a tie is obviously better.

A lot of it is his WRs, but he does seem to be a bit off on a lot of his throws. The one Edelman dropped should have been caught, but Brady threw it a bit behind him, making it a tougher catch.

I think they do need more out of the QB position. They need a QB with more mobility.

This was choice.

Per Football Outsiders, New England has the #1 defense in NFL and Buffalo has the #6 (Tennessee has #16 and Houston #26). The games were close, so imagine what the Bills and Patriots could have done with decent quarterbacks.

You cannot tell me in a million years that the pats did not have a decent QB. That is crazy talk. Even at 42 – he is the smartest, sharpest best qb of all time. Even if not as athletic. No QB could have beat the Titans tonight. I say that with a bit of nostalgia…

Fine. You may be right.

I’ve been watching Brady for 20 years and he’s playing some of his best football. After the Pats lost Gordon and AB they were doomed. None of the receivers can get open, so Brady has no one to throw to. And at the end of the first half Brady threw the ball 55 yards for a Hail Mary. His arm is fine.

And of course, the Gronk situation.

The best D in the league went to shit halfway through the season, but they had those great stats from the first half of the season that allowed them to cling to that title. But the Pats D is mediocre at best.

They only gave up 14. That’s not bad.

Brady’s arm seems fine. His mechanics seem solid still. I just see a number of passes a bit off. It may be because of the receivers. I don’t know – hard to tell from TV viewing.

If Brady comes back, cool, but the Pats need to develop a young QB to take over. Brady’s just one injury from retirement.

What made that even more beautiful is that it’s exactly what Belichick did to the Jets. So to see BB bellyaching about it was really sweet.
