The bad QB play gets the press, but nothing about the Bears this season has been all that great. It’s a full-on teardown at this point, and there’s no reason to allow Pace or Nagy to have any role in the rebuild. Unfortunately, much like Pace has proven he can’t be trusted to pick a coach or QB, Ted Phillips has proven that he can’t be trusted to pick a talent evaluator, so we’re just going to get back on this ride in a few years.

The announcers last night mentioned that GB has now had two first-round HOF QBs over the past what, 28 years? And the Bears have been searching for a QB for pretty much that entire period.

Don’t sell yourselves short. You beat the Lions in game one, a critical first step to running Patricia and Quinn out of Detroit. That was a great accomplishment.

ESPN NFL Analyst Mina Kimes comes through

Its the offense. Their defense is fine, and with an even league average offense would be a tough playoff team.

But their QB play has been terrible, and their running game non existent. They have the lowest rushing totals in the league, and yesterday was one of their best offensive games of the year.

The D looked sub-par last night, though.

Losing Hicks with Goldman already opting out of the season was just such a massive blow. He anchors the line and w/o him they don’t have a replacement which is horrible personnel management but here we are. When he is in the game they are a different defense.

Hicks is a monster. Last Bears-Vikings game changed completely when he went out in the second half. I don’t think you can overstate how much a dominant DT like him can change the game.

On Sunday, I gotta say that I was impressed that Carolina just wanted it more than the Vikes did. Props.

They need a real GM with zero McCaskey input on cap/assets/football ops. Only way to change things.

I agree, Moneybags McCaskey is a large part of the problem.

Also double doink Parkey ruined Nagy.

Trainwreck

Wednesday now.

Just call it a tie and move on. Miami fans would be happy.

I would be, but I think the Ravens should forfeit.

When was the last time a team actually forfeited?

EDIT: …he says, knowing full well he could just google and find out:

There has never been a forfeit in modern NFL history. The only game occasionally listed as a forfeit is a 1921 game between the Rochester Jeffersons and Washington Senators, but because it isn’t clear who was at fault for the game not being played, modern NFL records list that as a cancellation.

Both teams have positives. Though that would not have been the case if the game had been played on Thursday. But, as it is, why should the Ravens be the one to forfeit?

As I’ve said up thread; if a team violates protocols I think they should suffer the consequences. In this case the epidemic in Baltimore (as opposed to the “normal” few positive tests that Pittsburgh is dealing with is because a Strength Coach didn’t report an exposure and continued working in-facility even after becoming symptomatic.

The problem is a forfeit doesn’t play well on TV. No one tunes in to watch a forfeit. They don’t play for love of game in the NFL.

Make them both forfeit.

Plus, the players don’t get their game checks.
