Dude, do you remember Madden with Favre? It was inescapable until the man retired from the booth.

Hard for me to remember back but I wouldn’t doubt it. Madden’s faves were usually the big old linemen that got dirty as hell during the game.

Oh god, so much this. He was basically Brett’s unpaid hype man.

The Rams’ Super Bowl parade is a ghost town

Well, it is LA.

It kind of looks like there are tons of people down the street in both directions, and the guy just happened to find one place where there weren’t many folks.

Yeah… looks like it wasn’t a ghost town.

That’s still very sparse for a Super Bowl victory parade and rally. Usually I’ve seen folks lined up pretty deep all along a parade route and packed in by the tens of thousands or more at the end of the parade.

Here’s the Chiefs from 2020:

And Philly:

And New England in 2019, after their 2nd Super Bowl win in 3 years of making it to the final game:

Heh, well I would not EXPECT another city to be like us.

Or, hell, look at the Blackhawks parades of the early 2010’s, and that’s for hockey. And my god the Cubs parade in 2016 was insane! I was at that one with my (now 8, then 3 year old) son and the crowd was just so intense.

I’m in there somewhere, back by Buckingham Fountain

LA, your parade game is weak

Maybe people are becoming more aware of how absurd it is to devote any attention to mercenaries who play a game for the benefit of wealthy assholes.

Allegedly took upskirt photos of Jerry Jones’ daughter. You’d think those would be firing offenses and more.

Remember that LA was the team that complained about how there were more SF fans in the building than LA fans. I don’t know that the fans in LA were dying to get a team back in town. The Raiders were more welcome.

Needs more “sportsball”

I went to the Rangers parade in NYC and recall it was pretty nuts. What was even more nuts was how many cars they were able to tow in Hoboken. We parked in what we knew was an illegal lot, but there were 100’s of cars so we figured it was fine. Came back and not a car in sight. What was in sight was the line of people marching blocks upon blocks to get to the towing lot. Totally worth it. ;)

The Steelers hired Brian Flores to be an assistant coach. I figured he would most likely end up back in New England, but on the other hand Belichick seems to be setting up his son on that side of the ball. There is even talk that Matt Patricia, who went back to the Patriots last year, will end up on the offensive side this year. And the Patriots still don’t officially have a new offensive coordinator.

There must always be a Belichick in Foxborough.

NFL coaching nepotism is so weird.

If you haven’t read it, Kalyn Kahler’s piece about it for Defector a little while back was really great.

Ever see a starting QB’s agent do something like this before?

Dude needs to stop shouting…
