Hey cool, didn’t know anyone else followed WMU here. My alma mater too. Frustrating team to follow but they certainly have been managing to find solid receivers for years. Skyy should be good in the NFL and I expect Eskridge will have a good year too.
I was surprised you had Arizona so high…then I looked at the teams below
The Chargers’ schedule release was really something.
Hidden jokes abound. Especially for the Jaguars.

The Eagles could be pretty good if Hurts continues to improve.
That was freakin’ fantastic. And the Jaguars joke was excellent. If only the Chargers had fans.
This is make-or-break year for Hurts. He’s got two very good WR now with the AJ Brown trade.
If he falters, they’ll be drafting a QB high. I think they already have two firsts which could probably convert into a single top 5 pick.
“2001 Seattle Mariners” catching a stray there.
This jives with what we’ve been hearing about the trust.
So, Bezos is probably the favorite to buy the Seahawks. He supposedly wants a team, he easily can outbid anyone else, the NFL would love to have him in the fold, and his ties to Seattle are obvious.
Nooo, we want him to buy the Commandos from Dan Snyder. Uh, I guess we want him to buy them.

I guess it depends on what you mean by soon and whether there is a desire to spread things out a bit. The article I read mentioned “18 months,” so it could be as far away as after the 2023 season. Plus, the Broncos are currently being sold (for $4.5-5b, reportedly), so there is no reason for the Paul Allen Trust to rush this. Then you have the Commanders situation, where there is talk the other owners are starting to think about forcing a sale there as well. Finally, depending on what happens with the Dolphins investigation, you could have another team changing hands (though I’ve read a minority owner - in both senses of the term - has first refusal rights in Miami.)
Could be an interesting few years in terms of NFL ownership.
As an Eagles fan, I would strongly oppose this. Let the Snyder reign continue.
What if … hear me out … we push Snyder as team owner for the Giants? Could we truce on it? I really want to say Dallas here but I feel like Jerry Jones is a few losing seasons from being his own kind of crazy.
I returned to see this post. Such a shame how they treated Baker.
I am stuck with Kirk. But… something about our new front office … and coach …
Hope springs eternal, every offseason. We’ll meet in the Super Bowl one of these days!
Cleveland certainly treated Baker poorly but I have a hard time feeling sorry for a guy who is getting over $18 million in guaranteed money plus full access to all of the Brown’s facilities. If he has half a brain, he takes his money, stops mouthing off ( perhaps justified but it does hurt his rep with potential job options ), works hard and gets himself in top shape for free agency next winter. If he does that, worse case scenario is that he will get a good “prove it” contract and if he is lucky enough to have a few teams bidding for him, he could get a really good contract. At this point the Browns have made their position clear, so it’s now on Mayfield as to how his future in the NFL plays out.

I would be pretty surprised if Baker isn’t the QB of Seattle or Carolina by the time the season rolls around. He reportedly has an offset clause in his contract which means that if the Browns cut him he would get the $18M guaranteed but he would not be able to double dip and also get a salary from a new team. Instead any new 2022 salary would reduce that $18M so he’d end up with the same payout. Which means that if the Browns cut him he probably is willing to sign for the minimum for another team to force the Browns to eat the maximum.
So other teams don’t have much incentive to trade for him at this point if they are confident that he is getting cut because they can sign him super cheap if he is.
From Baker’s perspective, it is in his best interest to be difficult now and force their hand to cut him because he would actually be a really attractive option on the market at near the minimum for several teams who would slot him in as a starter and give him a shot at another good contract.
The Browns have been firm on saying that they are not cutting Mayfield for any reason. If they can not trade him they intend to eat his contract. Now whether that is a negotiation ploy to convince other GMs that they are not getting him for a bargain basement deal or not is up to interpretation but I think they seriously intend to hold onto Mayfield, in hopes that a mid season trade to a QB needy team may happen. As far as Baker being difficult and forcing a cut? Thats a fine line to walk as he can also get his contract voided if he pulls the wrong stunt. I still think its in his best interests to ride this out and gear up for free agency, and hope that a mid season trade becomes a possibility.

We’ll have to see what happens, but every team always says they won’t do X until the minute they do:
It doesn’t seem to take too much for NFL teams to decide someone is a “distraction” and move on. I don’t think he would need to do anything nefarious. Just show up to camp and do long media sessions every day about how he thinks he will win the QB competition and whatever else.
We’ll just have to see how it plays out, but just my personal opinion is that I think the Browns will have him gone by the start of the season.
The Browns are praying for a starting QB on another team to go down with an ACL during training camp. That’s their hope at this point. The Seahawks aren’t going to eat that salary. They’ll happily wait to see if they can get Baker for pennies on the dollar.
Frankly, Seattle’s best choice is to roll with Lock. What does Mayfield get you? If he does a decent job you finish maybe 9-8, maybe 10-7. But you’re robbed of a high draft pick, and you’re stuck with either paying him a ton of money because he needs a new contract or moving on, sans high draft pick.
