Bengals so lucky with that fumble.
Tennesse’s problem is that I don’t think they have the QB to come back down two possessions in a playoff game.
And Tanny gets picked (although it was a spectacular play be the defender).
Joe Burrow looks over the defense and his own offense. Sees 6 guys lined up to rush. Sees 5 blockers.
Doesn’t check out of the playcall, doesn’t call a hot route. Takes a 14-yard sack.
Many of these sacks are bad blocking. But that one here in the 4th quarter was tough to blame on the o-line. That was on Burrow or whichever slot receiver was the hot route.
I am also going to suppose that on 3rd and 1, you’d prefer that Ryan Tannehill doesn’t keep the ball on the RPO.

I have no interest or investment in the outcome, but we got ourselves a game here!
Yeah, plus Burrow had to know he could not afford a sack in that situation. It knocked them out of FG range in a tied playoff game.
Watching the replay, I’m not sure whether that was on Burrow or his slot receiver on the right (who should be the hot route, since that’s where the blitz came from.) Because that receiver ran a deep route without looking back. Heh. Might be on both of them. :)
Starting to think that passing up a generational O lineman to draft Chase was a mistake for the Bengals.
Geez.
This is like watching Larry Holmes vs Tex Cobb right now.
Burrow takes a sack here the Bengals deserve to lose
Wow, Cincy gonna bet it all on a 50 yarder.
Oh, wait, refs added three more seconds. Enough time to run another play.
And that was a waste of a play. Almost like the Bengals wanted to lose a yard.
9 Sacks! That’s amazing. Getting sacked 9 times and still winning is going to be a hard record to beat.

I’m pretty sure the Bengals run will end next week at KC or Buffalo, but if they improve that offensive line and as Burrow gets a bit smarter, they are going to very legit. As for the Titans, yeah, not having Henry really back for this game hurt but it just showcases what we’ve known for ahwile, mainly that Tannehill is a solid QB but he isn’t good enough even with good receivers to carry them if Henry isn’t his dominant self. I don’t know what Tennessee can do about that, though.
No idea what the Titans did with their bye week, but I’m not sure they spent much of it studying Bengals defensive schemes.
This may be sacrilege, but I almost kinda think getting Henry back sort of handicapped the Titans a bit. Like they tried so hard to incorporate him into the offensive package that they forgot they had D’onta Foreman.

Ominous signs early for the Niners. The Packers short passing game is chewing them up…
Davante Adams is going to be a problem for the Niners tonight. I’m not sure, other than “injury” that they have any sort of answer there. (Especially being pretty desperately shorthanded at CB)
