NFL 2024

I’m tired of Jawaan Taylor’s false start and/or illegal formation shenanigans not getting flagged.

What quarter is Kelce supposed to break up with Taylor Swift? I can’t stay up all night for this.

Hey, we actually have a game again.

Patrick says no.

Game of inches, indeed. Or in this case, a big toe.

Exciting finish. Neither team looked dominant, but that doesn’t mean much at this point.

Jackson as a QB looks good and will get a lot of first downs with his legs, but if you need him to beat you with his arm I don’t know. Mahomes just does his thing, figuring out a way to win games.

The Chiefs rookie WR who runs the 4.2 40 looks like he could be a weapon. Two TDs. The Chiefs are lucky Rice wasn’t suspended. They have some weapons on offense.

I think both teams will look better against lesser teams.

Fun game to start the season. Next game tomorrow night is in Brazil? Crazy.

NFL wants to do an international game every week. Basically creates a Sunday morning sports package, because they’ve already monetized Thursday Night, Sunday Night, and Monday Night.

As long as people are watching they’ll keep expanding. For me, it got over saturated back when Thursday nights became a thing. Same with college really. Though college is cool because you can channel surf (ask your grandma you Zoomers) and catch random games from teams you don’t know or care about. Late night PAC-9 games were always fun to stumble across Saturday nights.

But the NFL doesn’t have that. So it’s just spreading games all over the week and making each one less interesting. Again, that’s me. Maybe that’s plenty of US households too since they’re pushing it international and trying to get new fans.

That’s why fantasy leagues and betting are so helpful to the league. It gives even more people a reason to be interested in games they otherwise wouldn’t be.

Oh, completely. Which is fine, but if anything, it helped push me away because when I was caring about fantasy numbers I didn’t enjoy the games themselves nearly as much. There was just a tipping point where it got to be too much of a good thing.

After watching that game, I want to drop Bal TE Andrews from my fantasy team and pick up Likely. I should have done that after Likely was so active near the end of the season last year, but I listened to “experts” online that said Likely was unlikely to get much play time. Pffffft. It seems like the only receiver that Lamar actually trusted.

Yeah. I tried playing fantasy football one season. When I realized I’d have to hope the Packers (or at least some of them) played well on Sunday, I was out. There are teams and players I simply can’t wish for good things to happen to, and while I could pay to enter these leagues and use my curse to cause everyone I drafted to have the worst seasons of their careers, it’s just not worth the entry fees.

For me, it’s a great excuse to talk every week with my brothers and cousin and niece and nephews. Fantasy is a good conversation starter before you talk about other things.

Why not have an active draft? That way you can refuse to pick up players from certain teams. One of my brothers does that.

Oh, I willingly took the Packer player(s). I didn’t realize how bad it would be for me to hope they’d play well. And in general, unless my entire team was made up of Bears players (which, let’s face it, would have been a guaranteed last place finish), there’s always having to cheer for someone on the team the Bears are playing that week. It’s just not for me.

Conversation with my son last night:

Him: Can we watch football tomorrow on the big screen?
Me: Tomorrow’s Friday. There’s no football on Fridays.
Him: Oh, so we can’t watch it on the big screen?
Me: That’s right, we can’t watch it, since there’s no football on Fridays.

(10 minutes later, I look at the schedule)
Me: Oh hey, you were right, there’s a game tomorrow on Friday
Him: So we can watch it tomorrow on the big screen?
Me: That’s right, we can watch it on the big screen
Him: (After 5 minutes) I was right, and you were wrong
Me: That’s right. I was wrong, you were right.
Him: I was right and you were wrong.
Me: I think we’ve had enough talk, we should go to sleep now.
Him: I was right and you were wrong.
Me: (Through an arm over my ears so I can go to sleep)
Him: I was right and you were wrong.

That’s beautiful, @Rock8man.

Tell him you don’t have Peacock, so that actually you were right and he was wrong.

TD Green Bay, but there’s a penalty.

Lol, I’ve never seen both teams get called with 12 men on the field on the same play.

This pitch is going to get torn the hell up tonight. It’s not designed for NFL-sized players digging in with their cleats.

C’mon refs, let them play! :fist:

And that was an ugly INT by Hurts.

Philly is currently up by a touchdown.
