I missed the first week, am I penalized for having less weeks played? Will this eventually even out after a certain amount of weeks played?

You just won’t have those extra games on your record - do well enough on the rest of your picks and you can still end up near the top. And since Talisker also keeps track of percentages with his script, there’s also that to shoot for even if you miss more than one week.

Standings are sorted by wins first, losses second – so, if you manage to catch up to BillD in the wins column, you’ll be in first place (since you’ll have fewer losses).

And yep, that’s exactly why I put the percentages in, so we can compare how people who’ve missed a week or three are doing.

Chicago at Detroit this is probably a really stupid pick but I just have a feeling that last week was Chicago’s game and this isn’t
Tampa Bay at Denver
Buffalo at Arizona
New England at San Francisco I cannot in good conscience pick my most hated team over my favourite. I could rationalize it, but there it is. Fuck Bill Bellichick.

Pittsburgh at Jacksonville
Minnesota at New Orleans

shadarr–

While the 49ers’ offense has been nothing to write home about so far, NE’s offense has been terribly anemic (0.58) and consistently so (±0.05) without Brady. Given SF’s good-enough defense (0.96), then if SF can put more than 2 TD’s on the board they should win the game. Whether or not they can do so depends on which NE defense shows up (±1.3).

In short, there’s legitimate reason to be cautiously optimistic that the red ‘n’ gold will pull out a W this week.

I seem to be taking my crazy pills this week. Gotta take some upset chances to get back in this thing!

I sure hope so. If we had only won three games this year but they were against the Patriots and Seahawks, I would be happy. I just don’t have a lot of confidence in Mike Nolan. Looking unprepared and having the wrong scheme for the opponent has been a hallmark of his team.

Lots of tossups this week. I could see Baltimore, Houston, Arizona, S.F., GB, Jacksonville, and Minnesota all winning, and even upsets in some of the other games wouldn’t surprise me.

Tennessee at Baltimore

Washington at Philadelphia - Skins kind of scare me here after last week.
Indianapolis at Houston
Seattle at N.Y. Giants
Atlanta at Green Bay - subject to change if Rodgers is out.
Chicago at Detroit
Tampa Bay at Denver
Buffalo at Arizona - With Boldin out, I think the Bills can take control of this game.
New England at San Francisco - I don’t see the Pats going down like this.
Cincinnati at Dallas
Pittsburgh at Jacksonville
Minnesota at New Orleans

There’s no word on Boldin being out for this Sunday’s game; he has a sinus fracture, which could do with a procedure or just being let healed on its own, but everything else with Boldin is fine.

Well, even NFL.com has a story that says his return is “uncertain.” I don’t think it’s clear at all that he is going to be playing this week. We’ll see as the week progresses, of course.

Wanted to enter this because I think the Detroit Lions have their first chance to win a game now that they got rid of that stinker Millen.

I love this quote from NFL.com:

Millen’s exit comes more than seven years after the former linebacker and TV analyst took over one of the NFL’s most mediocre franchises and made it the worst. Millen’s teams won a league-low 31 games since he took over in 2001.

If its way too late to enter the fray, please ignore.
