Hey, does anyone else have this problem?
I’m using a Leadtek Nforce2-based board. There comes a point during my games the sound will all of a sudden become distorted, like there’s a loose connection in the speaker wiring and static has seeped in. It was crystal clear one second, then it’s polluted the next.
The problem is solved if I quit the application and then restart it, but then inevitably it will crop up again.
At first, I thought it was the audio virtualization Red Storm uses, but I turned that off, and it still happened. Plus, it happens in other applications as well, such as watching a DVD movie on my PC.
But I’ve tried this with both headphones and my Klipsch 4.1 speakers, and the problem still happens, so I’ve discounted speakers as a problem.
So, it’s either a driver thing or a motherboard thing, and if anyone else doesn’t have this problem, it could be I’ve got a bad audio chip on my mobo? Which would well and truly suck.
