As does Sony:

Bad all around I guess.

Well. to some degee this has to be expected. Nintendo already pulled the 99$ price range to get more sales stunt, and the PS2 has been around forever. At some point you hit saturation. I think the rumored Xbox cuts to 99$ is the only thing left for the big three to do to push some more hardware units. Sony could counter, but they have sold so many units already, I don’t think price was really the major prohibiting factor lowering their sales.

They’re still going to turn a $500 million profit for the full year. It’s a shame they ran out of consoles in the US in some locations. That clearly hurt them.
