I forgot that review. The comments, well I was going to say amazing but that would be a lie since we all know how “comments” go.

I own it but I’ve not really played it and now I want to. i guess Tom reverse Psychology-ed me.

I really want a Switch and they’re in stock around here. I just need to convince my wife. So far she keeps Switch-blocking me.

Nintendo refuses to let loose of the antiquated and occasionally frustrating concept of limited lives.

No longer! Tom has a Switch so maybe one day he’ll get around to reviewing this one too.

Don’t know if this was posted yet? Ace Attorney confirmed for Switch:

In interview with Jiji, Capcom COO said company’s developing Switch titles aimed at release after April next year. The pipeline includes “Ace Attorney” franchise.

That’s going to be …weird because of the screen dimensions.

Well the last two are also on iOS/Android, where I think they do various degrees of black bars:

as well as allow horizontal or vertical play:

(though I doubt this mode will be on Switch)

Super Mario 3D World is amazing, you nerds. The Wii U may have been a bomb for Nintendo but there is a small set of really good games on that system that make it worth owning. At least until they all get ported to the Switch.

Yeah, that’s what I meant, that I doubt they’d have a vertical mode. And playing PW with only one screen visible is bizarre.

Didn’t it start out on GBA?

Yeah but it first arrived in the West on the DS.

I was walking through Walmart to get a new can opener. I couldn’t resist walking through Electronics to get a preview of Black Friday. I was surprised to see that they had plenty of Nintendo Switches sitting in the cabinet. I guess I can finally just walk in and get one now if I wanted it. It’s still $300 though, plus all the expensive accessories I want. Too expensive for a 3rd console.

Switch rumour mill churning:

Expand for summary...
  • A Switch port of Dragon Ball FighterZ is in the works and will likely come out in Fall/Winter 2018.
  • Soul Calibur VI is in development for Nintendo Switch (alongside PS4 and PC). Link would return as a guest character on the Switch version.
  • There has been pressure towards Game Freak to get Pokemon’s 8th Generation out in hopes of a release next year. If you recall Pokemon Stars, that is (or was) real, but all it was was a Sun and Moon port to the Switch, used as an engine test tech demo thing.
  • Metroid Prime 4 should have something revealed with some in-game footage early next year from what I’ve heard. I’m hearing that Direct in January particularly. Bandai Namco is developing the game for Nintendo. I don’t know which development studio.
  • There is some kind of new Animal Crossing that they hope to release next year too.
  • The Switch’s Virtual Console will not be like how it currently is known to be like. There is some kind of a subscription service of sorts in the works.
  • Mother 3 is real. According to my source, it was completely localized and playable. The sad thing that I’ve heard is that it is being held back for some reason, which all I know has something to do with not knowing which month to release it in.
  • According to one of my sources, they claim that Square Enix is doing The World Ends With You 2 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
  • Blizzard is preparing a Hearthstone port for the Switch. I’m not sure when this will be announced due to the phrasing, but I heard about this when I went to Blizzcon.

A Switch somehow ended up in my living room. I’m not sure how, but Mario and I are on the case. We’ll be enlisting the help of a couple Squid shortly.

!

No idea if it’s true or not, but a sequel to the best game on the best handheld ever is something to take notice of.

Yep that stood out for me too. :)

I can see that being true; an acclaimed game with a long overdue sequel, and Squeenix on record as saying they’ll be pushing hard on Switch.

Grats! No Zelda!?

I have Mario Odyssey and no Switch.

Does the Switch require a $50/year online pass to play multiplayer online a la XBoner and PS4?

Played through it back at release on my WiiU. I wasn’t sold on the Switch back then.

They are introducing a service…next year I think. It will have a fee, but I think it was going to be much less.

I’m only familiar with Bandai Namco for their work publishing the Dark Souls series, so I have no idea what their internal development studios are like. Back at E3, Nintendo said that Prime 4 was being produced by a “talented new development team.” Industry analyst ZhugeEX, hinted on ResetEra a few days ago that N.B. were developing the game, saying “I’m looking 4ward to the reaction.”

He Hearthstone thing was an answer to a question at a panel. Blizz said not right now but they never rule anything out. I don’t see that as a definite yes.
