Looks like I’ve got my review request for November lined up:

There’s a summer sale:

New batch of games on August 9th.

Why is Nintendo so bad at this store thing? I wanted to see what was on sale using my phone. I am sure it can be done, but I got sick of trying. Even using the store on my Switch, finding things that aren’t new releases or best sellers, always seems more difficult than it should be. If there is a way to just look through the catalog, or a certain genera, it doesn’t seem easily done.

Did you scroll down?

I just viewed it in mobile Chrome just fine. Shows card-like views for each game currently on sale.

Sale is EU only.

Ah, I didn’t notice. Sorry!

There’s plenty of stuff on sale in US too.

I did scroll down, but quickly realized that it was the UK site, not to mention that site doesn’t list prices anyway. My point is Nintendo makes it too difficult to find things. I buy games on Steam half the time because they are always showing me sales and what I should be buying.

Well, at least they have the deals category now. It’s not very good, but they have been slowly making improvements.

Not sure if this link will work, but this is the store:

You can filter on current deals.

I mean, I’m not about to claim that Nintendo is any good at this online stuff, but if you scrolled down and clicked on a title you got the details and price.

This doesn’t seem especially horrific to navigate. It could be more efficient, but I was just puzzled by your implication that it was so difficult as to quit in frustration and somehow not find the information that is clearly there.

I am not trying to bust your chops very hard, I was just expecting a monstrous Cthulu site to waterboard my eyes and only found a mildly clunky, but serviceable thing instead.

There are not prices on the U.K. link above, you have to click another link to see prices. That’s my point, the info is there somewhere, you have to find it. They didn’t make it obvious what a great deal that game I am looking at was, so I lost interest. I did a search for Nintendo eshop, and the links want to tell me about the eshop, but not actually give me the eshop.

When I want to find something new to play on my Switch, I can’t seem to find a way to just browse. I can see top sellers, featured, and new releases, but not a way to just look around. I am sure it’s there, but it’s not easy to find.

I am willing to admit it’s just me being stupid, but they should do a better job for us stupid people with money to spend. I don’t make a lot of Switch purchase because every time I look, there isn’t much that looks good to me. On the other hand I have more iOS and Steam games than I know what to do with.

Here’s what I saw last night and also just now when I click on a random title.

Shame it seems weird for you, but you can see how it sounded really odd to me.

Saw you aren’t logged in in your screenshot. That was my problem on the UK store, I was logged into my US account. Log out and I see the UK prices.

Oh awesome. It always drives me crazy when something is so different for people for no apparent reason.

You could be right. I did some more experimenting and I noticed I tend to rotate the joycons 90 degrees (palms facing each other) so that probably makes the difference.

My kid picked up Snake Pass this weekend with her allowance. I played the first two levels, it’s pretty cool actually. It is really just about traversing the landscape and trying to get into hard-to-reach places; but with some really weird and unique snake controls (and a bird who can help). You can lift your head a short distance, but to reach higher places you have to wrap yourself around things to support your weight. You can also cross gaps if you’re careful, and do other sorts of tricks.

Neat stuff, $20 on the U.S. eShop.

From Nintendo via ResetEra…

Someone there noted it will pass Gamecube LTD after next quarter. Crazy.

Wii U sold 13.5 million LTD by comparison.

Graph in this post for PS1-PS4, 360, Switch, Wii numbers launch aligned…

Trending just below PS4 however Switch launched in March where most of the others launched at a Holiday season.

“Miilion” eh? I see what they did there.
