Dammit… I can’t get an extra dock yet. As someone who lives in two houses on alternate weeks, this is a huge bummer.

I hope you’re right, on all counts. I’d rather a gaming world where Nintendo succeeds than one where it is irrelevant, or merely a handheld developer. Because, no matter how strenuously some insist, their handhelds are definitely successful.
That’s not ideal, but at least it’s smallish enough to transport in a backpack or something…
Agreed. Nintendo continually manages to miss the mark with me, but I hope that they succeed in their endeavors. In general I think a games industry with Nintendo is better than one without.

I do agree that most of the in store stock will be gone by tonight. the question will be how fast does it come in stock again, and does the hype for it increase, plateau, or fall. for the Wii U it kinda plateaued and fell. where as the Wii it just went up and up and up.
(again if they bundled 1-2 switch in there I think they could have hit some of what made the Wii popular)
TELL ME WHICH PART OF THE DAY, DAMMIT!
I’d accept that, most of the time they just deliver my stuff to the wrong house
Amazon UK is out of stock now, but announcing more for the 10th of March. Argos (another UK retailer) is also out of stock in my area, but can deliver it within 5 days.
It doesn’t feel like it’s going to be incredibly hard to get hold of one.

Just tell your secret family they will have to wait.
People are probably thinking about how they doofed up the NES Classic just 2 months ago.
There might also be scalpers trying to grab some, predicting that Nintendo won’t have its act together again. We’ll see.
Or give your secret family the Wii U.
In the end, a mix of hype and that realization that I just REALLY like the feature of playing a game anywhere with MH 3 Ultimate on WiiU/3DS or several cross save titles for PS4/Vita caused me to wait it out at Best Buy last night. They had a serious line, but also a lot of units. I think that if you put any effort in to get one, you could today or last night. I expect that will change pretty quick as the day moves on.
While “Zelda or no Zelda” seems to rule most decision making processes today, it was looking at the near future Indy lists that shoved me into the buy column. With the death of reasonable design and pricing of iOS games, I’m pretty excited to get some descent meaty games that I can play anywhere including on my TV at home.
Plus, I expect it to be the slickest way ever to play longer games like open world Zelda (I actually detest the Zelda model of gear gating, but this one seems like new direction with a Skyrim/MH Zelda model), Monster Hunter, or Xenoblade. I can grind out one resource run, dungeon, or beast fight wherever and whenever, but without being slaved to a small device. Play in bed, at lunch, on the couch with surround…anywhere. I really like that idea and remember trying to get remote play or range options for WiiU game pad to do as much.
I picked up a Switch, Zelda, and Pro Controller. Next purchase will be Steam World Dig 2, Shovel Knight, and War Grove. Maybe Mario Kart Deluxe in April.

Charging the pro controller for now. I’ll setup the rest after work. When I went to best buy during lunch to get the pro controller and case they actually had a few Switch Grey in stock (mine is a target preorder).
Is Anker doing a custom battery for the Switch, or is it one of their ordinary ones? And does the 3DS do Quick Charge 3.0?
I was all set not to get one until summer/holidays to wait for more software, but I’ll be darned if I’m not jealous of those pics.
My local Walmart has a few in stock. If I hadn’t bought Zelda for my Wii U this morning I probably would have walked out with one
I was close to doing the same. But the more I thought about the realization that I will want the hybrid element sooner or later, maybe even now with Zelda…I might as well jump now and enjoy the options (including HD rumble and insta sleep save) now.
SHUT UP SHUT UP! I’m not listening!
I’ve realized that there are people who enjoy using a console once all the bugs have been worked out and it’s stable, and there are people who enjoy being on the bleeding edge and working through the kinks and being part of a console launch. All the “You may want to wait because…” reviews are just crack to me. I want to get in there and figure out what’s going on!

I read something weird yesterday - that someone tried plugging their Switch into their Macbook Pro to charge the Switch, but the Switch ended up charging the Macbook instead :-O
How do the devices choose how to behave in situations like this??
