I saw that too. I was pretty flabbergasted.

Outside of simple charging behavior, does anyone know if there is a damage risk? Like, could you screw up the batteries if you plug them in the “wrong” way?

Early reports from some users: Buy a screen protector!

The plastic screen and the high dock sleeve don’t mix very well, especially if you have kids.

Dumb question: Couldn’t you put the screen protector on the inside of the dock instead, to protect the screen from scratching that way?

you’d think they would have designed that slot with some type of soft padded felt in there. :/

I guess, but with a plastic screen, you’re better off protecting it directly from everything else too.

Also, there’s this warning:

What does this mean?

  1. Every Switch [skin] preorder will be cancelled and refunded.
  2. Do not buy a skin for your Nintendo Switch[/quote]

Did you say you needed more pics?

FYI, the pro controller comes with a usb-c to usb-a cable since that is how you charge it. So you don’t actually need to buy a separate cable to charge the Switch on the go though I don’t mind having an extra.

So are the scratches on the side area and not the viewable? I mean, that sucks, but I could live with that over the viewable area.

From what Digital Foundry said in their analysis, the issue is that unless you slide it in carefully straight in and out vertically every time, you take the chance of scraping the front screen against the edge of the dock “sleeve” there. That could be a corner on the edge of the screen in the unused area, or it could be right in the middle depending on how quickly and off-kilter you slide the unit.

I have zero interest in Zelda or Nintendo.

But I will honor my bet, because there’s no way in hell this will sell close to what the Wii did. It’s no longer 2007, first of all – every human being ever born now has a very powerful smartphone and will until the heat death of the sun.

Hope they’ve got this ironed out with the Switch Lite or XL or whatever I buy down the road when the games come out!
🔥🔥🔥

But seriously, that’s frustrating if it turns out to be a common problem.

You’ll want to check out Splatoon 2 as well, Chaplin. I know you enjoy a good online shooter and Splatoon is probably my favourite. Going to miss it not having a Switch.

Wake me up when a proper Metroid is announced though…

No console has sold more than the Wii since the PS2. Even the PS3 fell short by 15 mil, and the PS4 is barely more than half.

Only 5 systems have ever topped 100 million sold, and Nintendo has 3 of them (Wii, DS, Gameboy)

Mark me double! It is literally the reason I bought a GameCube.

that was one of my drivers to getting the switch… I think I played the most out of Splatoon on the Wii U. far more than my kids. and I love the idea of being able to play that anywhere with wifi on the switch in the future… can’t wait!

Let me elaborate: I will be a happier human being when Nintendo dies ;)

It is a safe bet. Mobile smartphones are slowly killing Nintendo. Well also Nintendo is killing Nintendo, but these are related topics.

What exactly are the terms of this bet? And yeah, “This console won’t sell more than the Wii” is a safe bet, since no console released since the Wii has done that.

It’s all part of the master plan! The NES Classic scarcity drives up Switch pre-orders and midnight camp-outs, drumming up the hype! ;)

In other news, man the Pro Controller is really nice.

I’d be a sad panda if Nintendo dies. They offer such great entertainment, and no I am not in the they should stop making console crowd either. I just wish they would listen a little to feedback outside whoever the hell thought a milking sim would be something special.
