It’s worth noting that you had watched that video before you picked the game up, iirc. Can you imagine how your experience might have differed if you hadn’t? And a related point: it’s kind of refreshing that there are some games these days that have reversed the trend of holding the player’s hand excessively. However, I think that, unlike a Souls game or similar, the visual style of HBH (which I like) doesn’t really convey that. I don’t think HBH set the expectation that this a really challenging puzzle rpg, and that is why the reviews and responses to the game have been what they have.

I linked my Switch to my Facebook, but I accidentally set the default permissions to “Friends” for when I upload a screenshot. Not wanting to flood my friends with screenshots when I take a few here and there and want to use them for things like articles and such, I want them set to Only Me. I can NOT find how to change this once set - even unlinking and re-linking didn’t do the trick. Any ideas?

I did the same thing. I had to change it from Facebook. Can’t remember where but if you mess around in the privacy settings you might find it. If not I’ll try looking when I get home.

Mario Kart 8 deluxe bundle coming to Gamestop:

In comes Gamestop touting their store credits.

I am not at all a fan of forced bundles, but at least the stuff in the bundle is worth having for most people. Would have been a lot worse if one of the games was something like 1-2 Switch. Sure people will buy this to get the system even if it is a poor deal.

You mean no one is lining up around the block to simulate milking a cow or you know simulate that… other thing?!

I get your point but usually bundles save you money or give you extras, or maybe a limited edition or something not just stick everything in a box that doesn’t give you much of a benefit to buying them separately.

Don’t disagree one bit.

I can say that from my experience running a store, it was disheartening to see a limited hardware unit walk out the door without anything else. I don’t like it, but I get why they do it. And it wouldn’t be an issue if supply weren’t so constrained. Not defending here, just trying to see it from their POV.

All in favor of bundles when they are consumer friendly (save you money). This isn’t that.

Thanks so much!

Target has a $499 bundle up right now that has 1-2 Switch included.

Does anyone actually like that game? They were demoing it on the stage at Pax East and it didn’t even work. It was kind of embarrassing.

The only feedback on it I know is from podcasts like Giantbomb, and while I wasn’t really paying attention much, the take away I have is people generally thought it was kind of cool but not really something you’d play for long (unlike the Wii Sports pack in, for example).

That bundle kind of blows, but I don’t think it is a ripoff like they say.

If you don’t have Zelda or Mario Kart 8, or a switch, it is a good deal.

Breakdown
Switch - 300$
Mario Kart - 60$
Zelda-60$
Season Pass (Zelda) 20$
128 GB SD Card - 60$

So, that article is like “I found that same SD card for 45 bucks online! Ripoff!”

To me, paying 15 bucks more than buying everything from Amazon isn’t so bad, since you can actually get one. Cheaper than the ebay scalping rates.

But, that bundle blows for me, as I have both MK8 and Zelda on Wii U.

You could resell Zelda though, and MK8 has the new Battle Mode and all the DLC from the original (if you didn’t get that, it’s pretty awesome and there’s a lot of stuff…). I think that’s a fine bundle tbh.

Yeah, it is a good bundle for someone who missed out on MK8.

But, I played a ton of that, and bought all of the DLC. And I have the extra Wii U controllers for 4 person multiplay. I would have to invest more in switch hardware to get that.

Great bundle for someone jumping in though.

I hear you. I’m debating whether I want MK8D myself. Battle Mode is all that’s new for me, too. As of now I’m likely to wait on it. Arms isn’t that far off and there are cool indies like every week it seems.

That said… it is portable…

I know!!!

If that thing had the VC on it… I would be preordering right now.

I’m sure the VC will arrive eventually. It may be another $1 or something to re-buy games again, but I’m game for that. The portability of the Switch cannot be underestimated as a selling point, and it is likely that some homes will have more than one. I think Nintendo got this one right.

I would be unhappy, but I guess that is better than nothing.

I think we’ll be lucky if it’s $1 to rebuy everything. I have zero confidence there’ll be any carryover whatsoever.
