But it has Seraphina, which almost makes up for that. ;)
The only statistical thing that is missing now is the aptitude percentages. Which were mostly irrelevant until really late game where you had to excessively grind to raise them a few percent at a time to max out stats. Probably for the best to get rid of it.
Systems-wise, the only thing I donāt see anywhere is the asynchronous multiplayer components. Makes me sad, but I donāt know how many people really cared about that sort of thing. They moved the progression benefits into the āItem Researchā feature.
Other than that, I donāt know why on earth they felt they needed to multiply all the numbers by 1,000 for no apparent reason, but whatever, itās Disgaea. Might as well get used to numbers everywhere early on, I suppose.
Performance wise, Iāve been playing docked on āBalancedā and itās fine. Moving characters on the map looks substantially worse than the sprites did, but the attack cinematics (for the two or three times you watch them before holding down skip all the timeā¦) look way better.
Video shows a few improvements in the remaster. Only a couple weeks off now!
Welcome to the best gaming platform since the computer, @jpinard ! <3
Thank you! I friended you (I think). Do you have Asian characters in your name or description?
Nope! Just plain old āLuuurftā.
Oh good I do have you! Too bad we canāt message people. Why doesnāt Nintendo have that?
Mostly because of children being the main audience, and how easy they would be to target.
Nintendo: The Helen Lovejoy of gaming.
There is only docked mode in this house.
Well here yāall go:
7" OLED screen; wider, adjustable kickstand; built-in LAN port in the dock; āenhancedā audio on-unit (better speakers); and a bump to 64GB internal memory.
I mean, if you donāt own one yet, itās the one to get, sure, but I am genuinely delighted in a somewhat meanspirited way that a Switch Pro remains āanother year outā for now :)
When you put it that way, I agree!
Yeah, seems like a decent upgrade (amazing that it took us 10 years after the first gen Vita to get another OLED handheld) but not āI need this day oneā if you already have a Switch. Iām willing to be convinced by reviews though (and the fact you can probably sell your OG Switch for ~$200 makes this upgrade more palatable).
Not going to double dip for that but itās a nice refresh if you donāt already have one.
Itās pretty funny seeing the wailing and gnashing of teeth around the 'net about this not being the rumored āproā upgrade.
Wow, that was not worth waiting for. As someone who never plans to play outside of docked mode, the kickstand doesnāt doesnāt help, the larger OLED screen makes no difference, the better speakers donāt help. But I guess there is the additional internal memory and built-in LAN port on the dock. Looks like the price will be $350. So $50 extra for those features. Bah. Still going to output at 1080p.
Itās still a tough choice though. I could save money and get the $300 switch, but maybe Iāll miss not having the extra internal memory and if I take a liking to Splatoon 2, maybe Iāll regret being on a wireless connection?
They would be idiots to release a new Switch that was beefed-up enough to have games that didnāt run on the āoldā Switch, splitting the market of the best-selling console of all time right now, in an era where the silicon supply chain is totally fucked. This was obvious.
