Like that, but not that one. You’re paying at least an extra $10 for the “official” branding. You can get a usb 3.0 adaptor for $20, but even that is overkill for today’s switch. A usb 2.0 should be 10-15 bucks.
This is correct.
EDIT: The forum software didn’t show any replies to this until I made one, then it showed 2! Sorry for doubling up on the info.
Agreed. The question is whether the revision is a new processor, GPU, or book reading light. I’m up for waiting for two of these.

Not quite what people expected but in retrospect it makes perfect sense - why would Nintendo go out of their way to bump specs when they can instead increase profit margins on a device that’s already selling out almost immediately every time it comes back in stock?
This is almost perfectly in line with how they’ve handled all their previous handheld systems.
Save the spec bump (if it happens at all) for some marquee new games coming out next year like Zelda.
Or on the flip side, it’s the third instance in the last two years where it’s confirmed that your docked playing experience is just as good as everyone else’s.
I honestly didn’t expect to be proven right so quickly. Sorry Rock8man!

I mean I almost exclusively play handheld as well, mostly while sitting in the same room with the TV.
But that is because I never have access to the TV because my wife is always watching something on it.
But I want it to be BEHHHHHHHHHTERRRRRRRRRR.
Yeah, it makes a lot of sense. If they had announced the Super Switch, they probably couldn’t make enough so it’s a scalper’s delight for 6 months. Even worse, it could hurt demand for the normal switch, so you’re strangling the golden goose.
This OLED switch can exist comfortably beside the normal switch. And maybe in a year, when the super switch is ready, you kill the regular switch and price the OLED one at $300. That’s a nice hedge when everyone has a heart attach at the $400 super switch.
Finally, the HD Pro rumours can be put to bed (for now)! :)
A bigger OLED screen and better speakers would be awesome for the handheld players. More internal memory is good too.
Not quite enough reason for a primarily docked player like myself to upgrade, though it does looks nicely premium and I am a sucker for that…
The internal memory does have the fastest load times though!

Yea…I’m docked all the time, dont remember when I un-docked. But, I’m sure my geeky kid will want the latest, greatest. So, gotta save some money now. Her bday is 9/23 so I can maybe do that as a late bday gift.
Bigger screen for my old eyes might get me to upgrade but not right away.
Damn it, now I’m really tempted by this:
$45 for Super Mario 3D world + Bowser’s Fury. Physical cartridge.
Considering I probably won’t have a Switch until either late this year or perhaps 2022, maybe I’m jumping the gun? Surely I can get a digital code for that price during that time and not have to keep track of a physical cartridge right?
Edit: I am talking about the wrong game, ignore!
That’s the game that’s no longer in production (because Nintendo is weird). I don’t know what that means exactly for digital codes, but I wouldn’t count on it. You can’t buy it digitally from Nintendo anymore; I just don’t know how digital purchases are handled for other resellers. If they were always generated at the time of purchase, those presumably wouldn’t be available ever again, and getting the game now depends on physical copies still unsold. If codes were pregenerated and bought in bulk by resellers, it’s possible someone still has some out there somewhere.
I say buy it physically now. At some point those copies will be gone too, and maybe Amazon will have a deeper discount to clear out inventory at some point, but maybe $45 is the cheapest you’ll ever see it. I don’t know a good way to anticipate which way it will go, so I’d jump on it now.
You’re thinking of 3D All Stars. That’s why I already have the code for that one. This one is 3D World. It’s still in production.
You’re thinking of 3D All Stars which he already has. 3D World is a port of the Wii U game with the new Bowser’s Fury content.
$40-45 is usually the floor for Nintendo’s big properties. You can probably get that price around a holiday or Black Friday though (and Wal-Mart always has Switch carts for $10 off). I’d wait.
Whoops! Sorry, dumb mistake! In that case I agree with @LockerK.
Well you can have one cartridge living in the machine, that you won’t have to keep track of! ;)
But the annoying truth is that the cartridges are often cheaper than digital, at least in this part of the world…
Apparently pre-orders go live today for the OLED Switch in about 3 hours.
So far, the list of retailers includes (or will likely include) online stores such as Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart.
Wow it’s almost $150 more than a standard Switch here (~$110 US).
D’oh! I forgot all about that. Now the pre-orders are sold out of course.
