I nabbed one just in case they sell out here too… can always cancel if I change my mind

I blame the announcement of Steam Deck, it totally distracted me and I forgot that today was the day to pre-order the Switch OLED.

Walmart has some more this morning. I pre-ordered.

Gulp. $379 with tax. At least I have a few months to change my mind I guess.

Welcome to the best gaming device ever my friend.

Adding up the size on disk for 3 games I already own so far (Breath of the Wild, Mario 3D All Stars, Mario Odyssey) is 23.4 Gb. That means on the 64Gb internal memory, I don’t actually need to buy an SD card yet. And I’m going to see how the default controls feel before I decide whether or not to get a Pro Controller. So hopefully I will need no accessories at all for a long time.

If someone could find me the port where I can plug in all my GBA and DS games, I’d totally agree with you.

It’s coming. I’m an insider at Nintendo.

It’s true, he’s my uncle.

Hitting imaginary Like button.

That’s a Pro model I would totally get behind.

One of the cool things I noticed in the video I posted yesterday in the Xbox thread about the dev mode retro arch emulator is that it can emulate GBA and DS games too. So one of these days I might pick your brain on the exclusive DS games worth playing.

Oh man, if I had to go through all platforms’ libraries and rank them, DS would have to be pretty near the top. So many good games.

Maybe you can help me, I’ve been trying to remember the name of a DS game where you piloted robots with all their own cockpit of sort, that you interacted with using the bottom screen. It was very kiddish, and probably Nintendo published?

Unfortunately doesn’t sound like a game that I played. A little googling points me to Solatorobo as a possibility, could this be it?

Ah, I remember that one, but that’s not the one I’m thinking about. It was really mechwarrior for kids, with interactive cockpits (I’m not even overselling it, just stating what the game was ;D
Thank you though.

Edit: I followed the link and went through that nifty DS exclusive title category on the site. Didn’t find my game, but wow, so many good memories. Really a bunch of unique cool games I had forgotten about.

Is it this?

Holy crap, they made a Mechassault for DS? How did I miss that?

Well you could buy GBA and DS games on the Wii-U online store. I wish they’d bring them all to Switch as well - right now we only have a curated selection of NES and SNES titles.

Of course emulating DS was easier on the Wii-U because it had two screens!

Yeah, I’d put the 3DS at the top being that it could play the DS games (similarly, I’d include the Xbox One on my list in big part for it’s 360 BC).

I’d rank my top 5: 3DS/DS, PS2, SNES, Xbox One/360, PSOne,

Hope you didn’t like it too much, because check the prices on a copy.

(It’s more or less the most expensive DS game)
