Plus if you wait a couple months you can get a nice new OLED model, which isn’t coming to the Lites (yet).

or they simply can be taken away, so you can put the screen the way you want and your hands as well, using whatever controllers.
It’s the best bed console for that reason. The lite is really not a deal for me.

Get the regular. Unless you already have a Switch, in which case a lite can make a fine second system.

But, no, the regular switch is best Switch.

Thanks guys!

I have a lite. I use it on my commute and such. I love it. I think the reduced form factor is helpful if you’re specifically someone who is just using it on the go.

If you think you’d use the kickstand undocked then I’d definitely hold off if possible and try to get the OLED model.

Indie showcase today.

People will probably be excited at Axiom Verge 2? Metal Slug Tactics could be good. I remember being intrigued by Slime Rancher at one point.

Apparently Boyfriend Dungeon (action Rogue like / dating sim where your weapons are the suitors) is out today? Surprise drop. Not sure how much room for it there is in a post Hades world though.

Didn’t seem to hurt Dreamscaper too much and that game even feels like Hades, except not nearly as good.

I think waiting for the OLED model is a great idea anyway, as I might go for a used model off ebay and am hoping prices for them will drop further when the new shiny model is out and some people choose to upgrade their systems. I usually never go for consoles, but the Switch does look neat!

I’m really enjoying Pokemon Unite. I’m a bit surprised since I’ve never really been grabbed by a MOBA in the past. I think the 10min time limit is a big factor, plus the generally simplified game is just good relaxing fun.

I’m not sure it will appeal to hardcore MOBA folks, but I’m definitely digging it. If I’m honest it’s the game that has me glad I paid for the Nintendo Online, which I initially got to play the old NES and SNES games but realized I’m not actually big on “retro”.

Ha! I’m not exactly sure why I took such a dismissive tone there. Probably because it combines two things I’m not interested in! But obviously plenty of people are. I should get my daughter to try it out.

Axiom Verge was great, so yeah, definitely curious to check out the new one at some point.

Hadn’t seen the Shovel Knight puzzle game, but that looks potentially cool too.

Is anyone following No More Heroes III? The game’s out and the reception’s a little mixed, which I suppose is predictable for a Suda51 game. The Washington Post reviewer suggested it in returning to the open-world structure of the first game it repeats some of the same mistakes and was disappointed that the sequel’s game-specific reflexivity is limited to mostly throwaway references and in-jokes rather than mechanics. The writer for Eurogamer, however, was quite charmed by the game, and makes him feel like he might’ve need to revise his opinion on the spin-off Travis Strikes Back from a few years ago.

No new games for me at the moment, but I would love to read impressions if Qt3 folks pick it up.

I was playing Travis Strikes Back for a couple of hours recently, but got bored by the jokes, the meta etc… I loved Killer 7 and the first NMH was OK. At this point I lost interest in Suda51, maybe a video will spark some interest.

It’s probably another subject matter, but I think a lot of good will went in the West putting irony in Suda’s works where there wasn’t any, and the current Zeitgeist isn’t kind to that kind of takes anymore.

Travis Strikes Again is one of my favorite Switch games and I already have No More Heroes III but I have little time to play this weekend and needed to try the CoD Vanguard Alpha so it’ll be midweek when I have proper time for NMH.

TSA is one of a kind and brilliant in its presentation of the life of a game developer. There is meta upon meta built into everything it presents. I guess many people can’t see that or prefer to ignore it when they play, but for me it’s an absolutely brilliant way to use videogames for an outlet to create something entirely self evaluatory in a way probably nothing before or after will ever even attempt.

I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, I’m playing NEO: TWEWY for the foreseeable future, and will probably wait to get a physical copy of NMH3 anyways.

I also need to play Silver Case, and I think there’s something I was planning on buying that releases in September that I can’t think of right now, so there’s a good chance I won’t get to NMH3 for a while.

I didn’t really click with TSA unfortunately.

45 days until I get a Switch.

45 days until, finally, happiness reaches you!

Is this the OLED release date? I’m so psyched. I got a $200 credit towards my pre-order for the new model but it means I’m without a Switch until it drops - and I’m eager to dive into replays (like Zelda, Slay the Spire, maybe start up some Darkest Dungeon and/or Battle Brothers) and new titles I want to pick up like Spelunky 2. So excited!
