So I got a Pro controller ages ago as a gift, but never use it because I play pretty much exclusively in handheld mode. Well I just learned about this thing:

So far it’s GREAT. The Pro is soooooo much nicer than the JoyCons.

Wow cool! Link please!

Oh sorry here ya go.

KDD Switch Pro Controller Clip Mount for Nintendo Switch/Switch Lite, Adjustable Clip Clamp Holder Mount for Nintendo Switch Pro Controller https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0828V1R6Y/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_6EYAJ4QGYY6CY3ZEAZGY

The Pro Controller is undeniably REALLY good. But doesn’t that holder also make it super heavy since you are now holding the whole thing on a pivot in your hands?

Asking since I have RSI issues & am always looking for a more comfortable way to play with less fatigue.

Diego

Not really. Once it’s positioned properly it seems to balance out nicely. Just played like an hour of D3 with no issues.

Are you holding the pro in the air? I would have thought that would make it to heavy. Or do you use it with it laying on something? I have a neck injury and I am thinking it might be too heavy for me.

Just been holding it in the air or in my lap.

Tough one to decide on. I normally wouldn’t bite on any of these at $40, but Nintendo first party releases don’t tend to get much cheaper.

I already got Kirby allies and regret it btw, don’t get that one.

Skyward Sword and Links Awakening both at 40?

There are also some good eshop sales. Both NiNoKuni and Tales of Vesperia (I’ve heard good things about both if you’re into JRPGs) are $10 and $12 respectively.

Also Mario and Rabbids is a fantastic Xcom alike with heavy movement emphasis and for $20 for the complete package is a must buy.

I figure NiNoKuni and Tales are probably better played on PS4. Surely they won’t look as good on Switch. (Remember I never use handheld mode).

But yes, I’m always tempted by Mario and Rabbids, but Ubisoft seems to have them on sale regularly, so it’s in no danger of not being on sale, I figure. Once I finish the games I already have, I can wait for a sale on that one.

It says something about Nintendo first party prices that $40 is considered deeply discounted for games that are several years old, and in some cases remasters/remakes of games that are decades old.

A new Direct’s coming tomorrow:

I wouldn’t worry too much about those games looking not as good. The majority of Japanese games tend to be on the very low end of the hardware demands - one exception is the not very good looking Bloodstained, whose Switch port is simply a crashfest and a disgrace.
Baring such exception, I have yet to find one that performed badly, despite some strange reviews claiming otherwise oftentimes.

You’re not wrong about it having major performance issues, but for what it’s worth I did 100% Bloodstained on the Switch and had a blast. By the time I played it, it had been patched quite a bit and I only remember maybe one or two crashes and two major areas of slowdown. In particular, the entire outdoor tower spiral area had such awful slowdown that its climactic boss battle was a slideshow where I ended up rigging together some sort of a damage-on-touch build because it was the only way I could progress.

I hadn’t thought about that game in forever, and was happy to learn in some quick googling that there is a sequel in development. Yay!

There’s a Nintendo Direct starting in 30 minutes or so.

Rumor has it that someone saw this on a plane (complementary grain of salt).

Now, I wouldn’t normally pay attention to this but the idea of an HD-2D (this is the visual style used in Octopath Traveler and the upcoming Triangle Strategy) Final Fantasy Tactics remaster has me fucking juicy. If this thing starts off and follows with what the guy on Reddit claims he saw, I’m going to get super, super hopeful.

Also, it sounds like we’re getting an all new Triangle Strategy demo that will feature the last years efforts to further improve and refine the (already excellent) demo they gave us last year. I’m hoping progress in this demo carries over, as I’m salivating over her to dig into it.

Watching it now, will provide my thoughts while I can before I have to take off for an appointment half-way through the 40 min stream.

1st up - Fire Emblem Warriors. Nothing has ever bored me more than the 1v1000 Dynasty Warrior looking things, and this seems to be no exception. June 2022 for those excited about this, though.

The second thing they showed was Advanced Wars 1+2 Reboot - it actually looks really slick and the updated visuals are pretty, but Wargroove (being fantasy themed) is more my style and that game feels a little streamlined/simple so I kind of bounced off the campaign, and since that couldn’t grab me, I don’t think this will either (I bounced off it way back when also).

Third thing - No Man’s Sky. This might be something I grab, I like it on PC but playing it on the go might be super interesting and fun while I watch TV. Looks really nice, actually, visually speaking.

The fourth thing they show looks like Mario soccer? Yeah, for sure. Mario Strikers. The gameplay is gorgeous, holy crap I like how this looks. I want to get it because it does look fun, but Mario Golf and Tennis also looked fun but reviews made them out to be mediocre so I have never bit on either, and I probably won’t on this either.

@Left_Empty This could be a sequel to that, possibly. The “Battle League” subtitle is why I’m not sure.

Okay, next up we have Splatoon. And since the Reddit guy claims the show ends with Splatoon, there goes that being accurate. Splatoon 3 finally revealed for those fans of this property.

Alright, now we move into Wanzers. Wait, what? A full remake of Front Mission. This looks neat, I have to say. Not very pretty though.

Disney and Pixar Racer speeds into view. I’m not super into racing games, but this does look fun.

Star Wars the Force Unleashed coming to Switch, that’s neat. Doesn’t look like a remake/remaster, but looks good.

Assassin’s Creed Ezio collection (three games) coming in a bundle. Looks good, comes with some enhanced features such as HD Rumble. Feb 17th.

SD Gundam Battle. Okay dokey. God this looks dumb, sorry I’m probably just old.

Chrono Cross Remaster coming to the Switch! That’s interesting. I think that was long rumored, though. As for a Remaster it’s done of those deals where it doesn’t look great - but I think it looks like you might remember it looking like. April 7th. The font sucks, it looks like what you get when they ask the design team what font to use and the answer comes back “I don’t care.”

Kirby! I never played a Kirby game, but they look like fun platformers and this is no exception. Also it sure is pretty, wow. The way he absorbs what he eats looks really interesting, honestly. I may have to pick this one up, it looks legit fun.

Sports. The Show 22. Baseball. I’m good, thanks.

Three Kingdom collections for Kingdom Hearts coming to Switch as Cloud Versions to be played while connected online. I never did play these, and I feel like I’m okay to not start now. Drops tomorrow, individual games can be bought from the eshop.

I missed the name of this generic looking platformer. It’s a collection of two games.

Here is the Portal show case that @Left_Empty was talking about, finally showing up on the US stream. Since it’s the “Game Collections” section of the show, I assume it’s Portal 1 and 2 bundled together. Yeah, here they show that off a bit. Looks great.

Live A Evil. What? Some side scrolling pixel thing. I don’t know what this is, but it looks neat. Oh, Live A Live. They had flipped the word Live throwing me off. Seems cool though, honestly. Super cool. Takes place in various time lines with different characters in each genre/time? I don’t get it, but I’m into finding out more.

I better bail, I have to get on the road, I’ll catch up on the rest later. Next up is Sports anyway. LOL, good time for me to bounce. Enjoy the rest of the show, everyone watching!

I’m on the Japanese stream, and I tuned it to more remakes announcement. This time it seemed to be Front Mission 1 and 2. Logo went off and it’s now Taiko no Tatsujin, shoot.

That Mario Soccer thing is a remake of a DS game, I think?

Haha, now we get No Man’s Sky. Seems like we live in warped dimensions. Like the airplane guy, who probably watched the Aussie direct? ;D
