Your stream being a different order makes me hopeful the Reddit guy was just watching a different version of the stream and that might put some of the cool stuff coming back on the table.

We were synched on both soccer and splatoon though!
Now we’re getting Portal here, and a Cuphead DLC.

Mario Strikers fuck yeah!

Wii…

Hell yeah, Xenoblade Chronicles 3!

The game looks absolutely nothing like the first Xenoblade. I guess this is why so many got nonplussed by 2, if they undertook that Genshin Impact metamorphosis.

This sounds nothing like what the guy on the plane saw. I’m starting to think he wasn’t telling the truth about that!

I really hope he’s right about there being a late Mario and Sonic at the Beijing Winter Olympics, even though it makes no sense to release a game like that well after said Olympics are over.

It’s based on the Wii version of the game.

This is really exciting. One of the huge RPGs never before localized, but remade in the awesome HD-2D style.

lol this 4chan leak was total BS huh? Random speculation along with a few obvious things sprinkled in.

In hind sight a ā€œFinal Fantasy Tactics remake in HD-2Dā€ seems a little far fetched. I was really excited, though! Ah well. At least we got a Triangle Strategy trailer and a ā€œprologue demoā€ that’s the first 3 chapters and carries progress through to the full version of the game - probably the best possible outcome.

Oh, and a Metroid patch that creates a ā€œbaby modeā€ so now I can maybe play it. :)

HD-2D doesn’t make a ton of sense for FFT since all the stages are already 3D and there’s nothing like town exploration to make good use of the effect. You’re never looking at anything but menus, a 2D map, or a battle.

Triangle Strategy is the same setup (though there is a brief moment in the demo from a year ago where you could walk around in a few small areas to talk to folks, like your tent). It’s 90% battle maps and cut scenes. I think it would have been amazing, but I really dig the art style used in these HD-2D games (like the seemingly lost in development hell Dragon Quest III Remaster).

Yayyy! Twitter kinda knew it was coming, the composer and some others were being coy about ā€œnew projects we can’t talk aboutā€.

Visuals aside, seems like it might be hewing a little closer to XC1.

I don’t see any evidence of blades, so maybe the Gacha stuff is gone as well. XC2 was a simply fascinatingly weird game, design wise due in large part to the weird out of place Gacha stuff.

I could tell just from that trailer that were gonna have another banger on our hands.

And yeah, the Blade game was the worst part of XC2. I’ll be happy to see it gone. Hoping they keep the deliciously complicated combat.

Yeah, this one’s held in very high esteem among those who have played it. Maybe not surprising considering it has quite the old-school JRPG resumĆ©: a collaboration between Takashi Tokita (lead designer and co-writer of FFIV, co-director of Chrono Trigger) and Nobuyuki Inoue (who worked on Legend of Mana and later was the director of fellow Japan-only classic Mother 3). I could swear it was part of the Saga series, but it looks like it’s not. Either way, it definitely has a similar vibe based on what I know about it.

Welp, there goes my September, and probably most of Q4 as well given how long the games are! Yay! :D

Has anyone played Live A Live? It looked pretty cool

Huge sale here in Europe, probably comes to all of you soon.

XCOM 2 Collection 90% off is… Tempting. It probably runs horrible. I already have it on PC. I didn’t really like how the simple core of XCOM1 is overburdened with a lot of excessive stuff. I still feel the urge to buy.

It’s a great game, and a great price, but yeah - according to the reviews it targets 30hz, and struggles to maintain even that. Unsure if they ever fixed it.

It did get a patch. It gets slowdown occasionally and it’s worse towards the end of the campaign. Sluggish loading.

But yeah, playable. Mediocre Switch port.
