D3 is EXCELLENT on the Switch. I’ve got Torchlight 2 and Titan Quest and both are very good, but they don’t have that moment-to-moment murder of Diablo.
I’m still new to the MUA game but I can see it really taking up a lot of my time as well.

Diablo 3 is awesome on the Switch but there’s one big caveat that if you like playing Season mode then you have to be online to start a new game which is needed if you want to run bounty loops. If you play mostly portable like I do that’s kind of a hassle. Just FYI.
I just use the hotspot on my phone. Did that this morning, worked great.
Another vote for Diablo 3. Incredible on the Switch.

Does Diablo 3 ever go on sale on the eShop? It’s pretty pricy for a game I already own on PC but haven’t played in ages.
Seeing @BrianRubin ‘s handheld Pro controller setup with Diablo on the display has got me tempted…

Don’t look for Diablo 3, look for Diablo Prime Evil Collection, which has Diablo 2 and 3 together and goes on sale frequently.

Good advice! Thanks.
[Edit: oh! Hey! It’s on sale right now!]
I’ve not played D2 on the Switch but D3 is sublime.
Here’s a useful site. I understand it shows you sale for your region. For me it shows that Diablo often goes for 50% sale. I can also see that somehow Diablo 2 + 3 pack costs as much as just Diablo 3 without any sale.

That site is amazing. Thanks! I’ve signed up for some alerts. I’ll never get around to playing Diablo 2, so I’m happy to wait for a 50% off deal on the Eternal Collection versus the 26% off the Prime Evil collection that’s on right now. Last year there was one at the end of February, so hopefully it will repeat.
You guys the more I play the Switch the more impressed I am with it. No handheld has scratched the same itch that PC gaming has until now for me. I’m honestly quite astonished. I think by now I’ve played more Diablo 3 on the Switch than I did on my PC.
I’d be more interested in a Steam Deck if 1. I didn’t already have a Switch and 2. Valve had a better track record with their hardware. I totally believe the Deck will be abandoned within a year or two.
So yay Switch!

Can it really be abandoned though? I mean, it plays PC games on Steam. It’s not like games are going to stop coming out for it.
Yeah they’ll eventually stop selling and supporting it, I think.

It’s a PC. It doesn’t really need “support” but I will point you to the updates for Steam Controller and Steam Link that are still coming out.
They’ll definitely stop selling this model at some point. The question is if they make a new model with better specs or not.
The Deck will never be unsupported. Much like the Steam Link became an app and how the Steam Controller became Steam Input. The hardware is just a vehicle for software, which will never stop being iterated on or produced. Even if the Deck is a huge flop sales-wise, the custom Proton distribution will continue to be maintained, it’ll just be called Steam Handheld or whatever.

I just picked up again after selling it 2 years ago due to austerity measures at losing my job.
Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada had a 20x PC Optimum Points weekend promo where I spent $380 on it and got $110 back in points to spend on groceries or anything.

That’s a sweet deal. Well done!
After getting my niece and nephew Switches for Christmas I find myself picking mine up more these days. It really is just a joy to play around with.

I couldn’t justify $150 CAD more for the OLED version though even though the 20x points return would net me $165 back… Used the savings to get some NVMe SSD flash storage before the prices spike on that.
Hmm still attached to my account, I had Arms, Fast RMX, Dragon Quest Builders, Golf Story, Lumines Remastered, Stardew Valley, Starlink, Mario & Rabbid, Picross 5, Puyo Tetris, Rocket League, Snipperclips and Splatoon 2.
Boo, I forgot to buy BotW and Mario Kart digital last time.
It’s running Linux, and probably requires support to make future games work on their Proton Compatibility Layer, yeah?
Ah yeah, so we think they will keep the Proton thing going far beyond the hardware sales life?
I think they already have. At least, they’ve been pushing Linux gaming for nearly a decade. My understanding is that Proton is just the next major iteration of their Linux gaming strategy. I don’t foresee it going away.
