I just bought one of these this week! Thanks Animal Crossing + exorbitant JoyCon prices + creeping joycon drift.

I can second the recommendation for the Pro+
As a bonus, you can also use it for Android and PC games, and IIRC even XBOX. It has analog triggers, so it works well with driving games.
I havenāt looked at the whole sale, but two great games are among those on sale right now. Both games are half off.

Lumines:
Itās really amazing. My console purchases used to be āNintendo systems for Nintendo games, PS/Xbox for everything else.ā Now that the Switch is so portable, thatās totally flipped to āPS4 for platform exclusives, Switch for everything else.ā
Thanks for the heads up. Iām not really a platformer person, but I bought Lumines (which I had never played before), and itās fantastic. Only around $4 after using my small number of Nintendo credits.
If youāre using those SN30ās for fighting games with that dpad, forget it. Itās way too stiff, same as the SNES controller itās based on. Those were also awful for fighting games. Itās barely ok for shooters and action games.
The Pro controller isnāt perfect because its dpad can be problematic, but itās so much more comfortable and wonāt destroy your thumb or wrist. If youāre just using the dpad, you want the 8bitdo M30. Itās the best dpad since 1993.
Well Lumines is anything but a platform game, so youāre in luck

@Geggisā darling is 90% off: Invisigun Reloaded is 1$.
Be advised the game is multiplayer only, and⦠well there is quite the learning curve.
Invisgun looks pretty neat. The store page says there are single player campaigns, I guess theyāre not worth much?

Invisigun has short puzzle-like campaigns that unlock new characters.
The meat of the game is the various PvP modes. But itās not multiplayer only, you can play single-player against bots.
Itās like saying Bomberman isnāt multiplayer only.
Golf Story is half off ($7.50). Iāve been watching that one for a deal for a while now.

Yeah Iāve read good things about it so was going to pick it up today.
Itās great. Well worth that price.
Crap I hate you guys. How can I add Golf Story to my gaming schedule, when I just got Animal Crossing and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3?? Or I guess the question is, how can I NOT get it???

Iām sort of getting burnt out on Animal Crossing so I donāt mind the opportunity to try something else.
Ooh, been interested in that one. I loved Mario Golf on the Gameboy Color.

Haha, yeah. The old single-player used to be awful but now it has a bespoke series of levels for each character which I think is about the best you can hope for with this kind of MP oriented game. Itās a good way to learn the fundamentals without needing others.
Itās worth bearing in mind too that Invisigun supports online and cross play which is rare for an indie MP game.
If you liked this, or even if you bounced off it, At Sundown is worth checking out. Itās a lot more immediate and accessible, but still brilliant, and also has online MP. It was one of my games of 2019.
I put The Touryst on my wishlist last year after reading about it here and seeing Eurogamer rave about it.

Itās on sale now, $13.99 down from the usual $19.99. Iāve only played for about a half hour, but it looks like a fun little game. Didnāt want anyone to miss the discount if they were ever considering it.
The demo was nice but I still couldnāt quite make what it was. It felt like isometrical British action-adventure games of old, but there was a bit too much extra fluff for my taste.
