Maybe you need to not hate JRPGS, but it’s a masterpiece and I’m looking forward to playing it some more. :)
The new art looks a lot cleaner, but I dunno… seems a bit more generic with less character now.
Have you looked at the original graphics lately? Even games I remember looking pretty good for the Wii don’t hold up.
Yeah I was looking at the recent ‘comparison’ images floating about. I’m not talking fidelity (obviously the new stuff is way better), it’s the style seems a bit different. The older ones have fuller lips, bigger noses, darker shading. The new ones are a bit more ‘anime’.
edit: lol, most of the comments complain about it ;)
I can’t see a huge difference. Just looks cleaner to me. Sure, there are differences, but i wouldn’t call it a leap, stylewise.

The Switch lite hasn’t been out for a year.
yes, true. When was it out ? This year or last year? I don’t remember. Seems like a year to me.

I also had the 3DS version and gave up on it. I don’t know if it was only because of the terrible graphics but that was certainly part of the reason.

The Switch Light has been out for ~7.5 months.

I think it was August of last year? So maybe 9 months? Disappointing if it suffers from drift already.
It’s particularly noticeable in this shot. The bigger eyes, pencil eyebrows, tiny nose, thin lips, lighter shades. There’s a definite anime-ification to my eyes. Not that it’s a huge deal or anything but it looks different.
The original Wii faces were godawful. The second picture above may be slightly less “anime”, but it’s way more monsterous.
Yeah, looks like a girl now. Wait, is it a girl?
I think so, unless it’s Michael McKean from Spinal Tap.
Maybe I’m misreading but it has multiplayer. I’ve been playing it with my boys the last 3 days.

It definitely has multiplayer, but I was responding to the previous suggestion that it’s multiplayer-only. It isn’t, though the bot games arguably are less interesting.

Our Switch has been doing this weird thing where it stops believing the right joycon is connected or something even though it’s accepting inputs from it (e.g. on the home screen). Like it brings up the “press L + R” screen but doesn’t register that you’re doing it just makes a weird kind of click noise when you do, but only while the joycons are connected to the machine; disconnect them and L+R works fine to make that screen go away. If you put the machine to sleep and wake it back up that seems to fix it. Never happens when they’re disconnected, only when they’re in contact with the main body.
I remember a guy writing into Nintendo Power about how he’d run over his NES with his car and after straightening the housing it worked fine.
I have some good news for you then!
This makes me realize that Animal Crossing has ruined all my other Switch games. I still have 4-5 I need to even start. Too busy, need to breed flowers. Can’t play anything else.
What is the best way currently to get some earbuds or a headset attached to the switch? Using a pro controller.
Yeah, I have a copy of Final Fantasy XII coming from Amazon that was only $30 and I was really excited to play that again on the Switch, but I don’t think I will get to it for some time. And poor Luigi’s Mansion 3 - I have had that since Christmas and only put it in to get my 100 coins! I did launch it and it’s really, really pretty, so I should probably dig into that soon, it did seem fun, but I got to where you save your game and quit out to get back into AC. Sigh.
