If anyone is looking for a Switch, I have a new neon bundle available. Bought for my wife when she was playing a lot of animal crossing but she stopped before it arrived, so it needs to go. Unopened, includes the console, Pro controller, Animal Crossing and a tempered glass screen protector. PM if interested, selling for cost (it came from GameStop).

edit: sold

To limit myself during the sale I grabbed a $99 code for the eshop. I was strong for about 14 hours and went on and grabbed GRID this morning. It was only 30% off, but it’s the only halfway decent racing sim on the Switch.

How is Mudrunner on the Switch? With only digital triggers, I wonder how well it is to control yourself if mud. It’s a big discount (down to $7 I think) and the ā€˜sit on your couch’ factor is huge. But if it doesn’t play well due to the controller, I’m out.

Oh, and between Shadow Empire on the PC and BotW on the Switch I have no other gaming time available. For those who said to keep pushing a bit and just wander rather than follow the main questline you are geniuses! I did have to look up my first walkthru of a temple last night though. Even with the hints it was a bit of a pain. Still, got me a cool sword out of it! Lordy, such a gorgeous game and the world is a perfect size.

I grabbed the game because I was Mudrunner deprived with my PC being far away and figuring it was a brilliant engine (hoho) underneath.

No issue whatsoever on Mudrunner on the Switch. I never used the analogue triggers on the PC (I always feel those require way too much self control and stress my fingers too much), relying instead on short pressures, so I didn’t feel any difference playing on the Switch.

@Left_Empty

Well hell, there goes another $7.49 out of the wallet.

PokƩmon Snap coming back.

You can now get Invisible Inc. which rounds out my portable turn-based tactics collection nicely; been wanting it on Switch since it was launched. They resized the text so that it’s readable too. I only managed to do the tutorial but they seem to have done a good job with the port. Comes with Contingency Plan as standard.

Crap that’s from Klei, right?? There goes another twenty bucks!

That’s the one! It sneaked into my basket and checked itself out too.

Has anyone braved the Burnout Paradise or Railway Empire ports now that they are out on Switch & what do you think of them?

My uneducated guess based on posted video & history is that Paradise will be quite decent (frame rate looks great, video quality not worse than original) and Empire could be a mess (continually missed & sliding release dates. zero previews & comments online).

I’m really curious about Burnout. I played the first three games on PS 2 a ton and loved them, but seemed to recall some of the more insane mechanics like Takedown and the ā€œlaunch your car into a scene to cause as much mayhem with one acceleration as possibleā€ mode went away at some point in the series?

I loved all of the Burnout games until Burnout Paradise. For some reason, it never clicked with me. I also loved the mode where you launched yourself into mayhem.

Played Burnout 2 (Director’s Cut) on gamecube to death. Loved it. I have heard that this Paradise game is where some people started falling away from the series. Don’t know why though.

It went open-world, so there was some kinda obnoxious driving back and forth to re-do challenges and such, IIRC. It also removed the Crash mode (that was the name of it) from the game and replaced it with a kinda crappy system where you could initiate a Showtime event at any point, but they weren’t the carefully orchestrated ballets of destruction from the previous titles (per the Burnout wiki rabbit hole I fell into briefly).

Maybe I should just dust off the old PS2 and Gamecube, instead :)

I can’t imagine trying to control Railway Empire with console controls.

Here’s the first review for Paradise. Basically it drives great, looks fine docked but blurry handheld, and has an absurd price tag because Switch.

Just saw it in new releases! Came over here to ask why none of you jerks had told me, but looks like I was behind on my reading. Should have known QT3 has got it covered.

Had no idea this was coming out, but I’ve been wanting it on Switch for ages!

For $2 this has been a fun little space shooter:

I’ve been avoiding it because with a name like that I thought it was just some cash grab on people confusing with the movie. But hell, I have enough gold sitting around to redeem for it, so now I owns it.

Let me know what you think - I’m not terribly far into it but it’s been some mindless fun.

Rang up at $.49 for me so sure I am in.
